I need some '74 Dodge Colt parts now. Hidden Valley had 6 good parts colts, but when Desert Valley bought the big yard, all my supply of colts parts got crushed.

Makes me feel very old as most all of those junkyard cars were still new cars in my day.

Hey, my German friend, if you ever get to So. Texas, look me up and we will go hoist a few Paulaners, and we will go in the '32 Highboy or the '40 sedan. I have been told the place resembles a beer hall. You can verify it or not. I live about 6 miles from Vintage Air, and we can visit Jack Chisenhall and Rickie Love. Someday.

    Thanks, I'll check them out.

Drove out to Hidden Valley yesterday and overpaid for a wheel, but at least they had one. Not much left in the yards for 40's Mopars it seems.

Update on Dave Boatwright's, there is very little info about this yard on the web... Tried him last December & he was in the hospital. Tried him on the phone about a dozen times this Fall, leading up to a Dec. visit. Could not reach him via phone or mail. He is 81ish now and in poor health. Inside sources indicated that he is rarely open. Makes me wonder what will happen to the yard. A couple of us left a pretty good stack of Benjamins with him last time. Still a career worth sitting there. :(

DVAP was also a big disappointment.
My wife and I drove out there during a Barrett Jackson week and were ignored by the help.
We did walk around for a while but there wasn't any prewar stuff there.
Got more attention from the snakes.
We heard Casa Grande is the better prewar location.

Thought I would post this up on Dave Boatwright...:(

Angels waved the checkered flag as David Franklin Boatwright crossed the finish line.

David Boatwright Sr. passed away peacefully with his beloved wife Terry at his side on July 12,2020.

Dave was born October 26,1936 to John and Mary Kathryn Boatwright in Hornersville, Missouri. They moved to Phoenix in 1952. Dave graduated from Phoenix West High School class of 1954.

Dave worked as a Union Millwright throughout the state of Arizona before starting Boatwrights Auto Wrecking that he loved and operated into his 80’s. Dave had a passion for classic domestic cars. He had friends and customers nationwide with whom he loved to share stories and enjoy a cold beverage of his choice.

Dave loves auto racing. In his younger years he raced cars competitively at the Fairgrounds, 11-mile corner in Casa Grande and Manzanita Speedway 1950s-1970s.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his son, and a grandson. He is survived by his wife, Terry, his daughters, Cindy, Ginger, Robin, Debbie, and Edan, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a large extended family and friends.

Without question, regarding old cars and Boatwright-they don’t make them like they us to.
