This red 5 window is my all time favourite off the shelf die cast model. I never got around to getting a second one to modify but always thought it looked cool just the way it was.

Thankyou for all the replies guys.
Ethan it is good to hear from you. For me it is good to have you guys as friends also.
I was never into Leggo. Actually I think model cars were/are my Leggo. There are so many skills to be learnt from building detailed model cars. You can't go wrong if you get seriously into building them. Especially if your dad has a bunch of stuff for you to begin with. Feel free to ask for advice or for any parts that you think I may have that will help one of your projects.
Gary D here is my version of that '32 roadster you showed. Actually it is one of those very same bodies that I am modifying for Ethan's model!

Hey Y block thanks for the shots of Gary's models.
Actually that is how I met Gary. That is, through models and mutual friends/model builders.
I work in varying scales. How about a 1/8th resin '32 tudor project. I have to admit I haven't worked on this one in a long time. Still a lot to do to finish it!

This weekend I have been working on the front entry door for our house, but this moring I did get a little bit more done on Ethan's roadster.
There are no real interesting progress shots. So I just snapped a few images here in the garage.
As I said in a previous post, I think model cars have been as big a part of my life as the real thing. I always have a lot of model projects on the go and they just sit around in the garage.

Nothing new to add about The Last Grasp Special.
    So here is some striping.

That first one was done laying on my back under a trailer. The things we do.

Hey Brant. Yeah I did that Ukulele for the son of a guy I used to work with.
It's been quiet in here again. I have been busy so haven't posted anything new.
I was just here on the computer and looked to my right and thought that would make a good shot.
I finally got my 2 poster hoist and started setting it up today. So the garage is a bit more disorganised than it usally is. But I took a few shots anyhow.

The beginnings of setting up the 2 poster, in this shot the posts are not set up at the correct width apart yet.

This next shot the posts are set apart at the correct width!

It's been a busy couple of weeks at work, so I haven't been able to get stuck into get my 2 poster hoist and get it up and running as quickly as I would have hoped. However I have been able to do a bit to it every now and again. Anyhow Thursday night I did get it up and running. Today I got to try some of my cars on it.

After getting it up and running, I did a few test runs without a car on at. A few adjustments were made and this morning I rolled the coupe onto the hoist and got it off the ground!

After having the coupe on the hoist I rolled the Victoria in. For the most part the Victoria will be stored up in the air on the hoist.
The hoist has been a good exercise in space management. It is amazing the space that has been freed up by the use of the hoist. It has changed the whole dynamic of my garage, as far as the storage of my cars goes.

Then it was time to put the coupe under the Victoria. To achieve this I had to chain up the rearend on the Victoria. So when I raised it on the hoist the rearend wouldn't hang down to low and not allow the coupe to fit under the Victoria. With the rearend chained up, I have a couple of inches ( 50 mm ) of clearance.

    It's been a while since I posted.
It's been busy at work . I am still trying to get used to this new format on the HAMB, I still don't know if I like it.
As I said previously I have the 2 post hoist up and running, so now I am making the space around it more user friendly.
I am hoping to get down to Rita and Tony's in a couple of weekends from now.
But to add a bit of interest to this post I will add a couple of striping images. They are a couple of my faces of Santa's helpers series of cards I do to send to friends.

Hi Gary. Learning to post images a can be a real pain. But well worth the time when you get the hang of it.
That shot of the coupe looks great.
Always good to get back and do a bit of striping Mitch. I have a card I need to stripe, hope to get it done
    in the next few days.
Tony I am also looking forward to getting back down to Port Fairy. I will give you a call tomorrow night.
I love my hoist and have been working on a space managment project to do with the big map drawer I scored from work recently.
Just to add something interesting to this post. Here is a shot of a couple of 1/18th diecast models. The SoCal coupe is as purchased from GMP and the other one of the same ,only modified!

Some new hotrod art I managed to pick up at a garage sale really cheap just recently. Someone had put sometime and effort into doing these paintings.

    Love the hoist Geoff...

Hey Tony myself and Shane will be in touch real soon, we were thinking of doing a day trip to catch up in the next few weeks.
