Odd that something that ran relatively well for over 300 miles barfed up so much oil, which supports something building a nest in the road draft tube or another relative absurdity.

This is what I tried to say and said so poorly.

A good run-in will probably help.

I don't recall if it was asked, but how many quarts do you put in this engine? Is there a chance it's overfilled because the dipstick tube isn't in all the way? I've seen that before.

( Byp*** or full flow oil filter? ...and if byp*** type, did the filter actually fill?)

Also, looking at the engine pic, maybe fan blast is causing a vacuum at the breather cap, which is pulling oil uphill. You could experiment with a temporary anti-blast shield to see if that helps.

I remember oil being ****ed out of an air bath filter, because the blast shield on the housing was turned toward the firewall. That air blast is real strong at 60.

Everything is good to go. I have been running a quart of MMO with the oil for the past two days and just taking small trips after warming it up. I think everything was just stuck from not being used much in the last 3 years. No oil used at all since yesterday.

While checking everything out, I found a decent sized vacuum leak. Idles better now :)

    Thanks everyone for your help!
