Chevy 216-235 question

    I have a 216 and Im currious if the 235 waterpump is a direct bolt on? also who sells the stud kit to put on a offy valve cover??

    the early (pre 55) 235 water pump should be a bolt on, but the 55-newer one that fits into a big round hole in the front of the block is not.

    If you need the stud kit then you have a 235, eh?

    the stock valve cover has 4 bolts (2 on each side) the offy has a 2 on top

    I think you may have a 235 and not a 216. If so, that's a WONDERFUL thing, as the 216 doesn't oil for ****, and the 235 is a strong runner. I've never seen a 216 with 4 bolts holding down the valve cover, and owned 8 51-54 Chevy's over the years, so I've seen and worked on a few. Try speedway or nightprowlers for the studs.
