my plans are to bag it and let (lownslow) do his thing with the paint. i want a very mild custom. Groucho's Caddy has the look.

Congrats. The 56 Olds I have just got on the road was in a very similar condition to your Caddy. I know you have got a heap of work ahead of you, but it's worth it in the end.

    Kool Ride lowsprings.
My roomate knew about one in our town for twenty years.
He was able to buy it this year-he got it for cheap.
Last month it rolled away(you know they have no park right)and hit a mobile home.
He was bummed it smashed his drivers side fender.
Well good luck came after bad and he found a 54 four door w/ good fenders.
We are tearing it up right now.
Let me know if you could use any four door stuff.
He kept some stuff but ditching others

thanks guys.... Caddy's to me have always been the ultimat cruisers. i will keep this one to the end. i love caddy's always have always will.

tooslow54...yes i still have the chevy, it belongs to my wife now.

mad-cad... i'll do a tech on it. it's weird how it has 3" blocks on it now and has about 7"-8" still of rear end travel. the trunk area looks like i won't have to cut into the floor to box anything up. almost as if they where meant for airbags.

    dirtybird... check your PM's

haha that's how come the chevy belongs to her now. she said "if you want another project. then you wont need the chevy anymore". so she took it over.

you should have seen the interior prior to the blankets. :(

hope you got all the trim caddy parts get expensive quick.

you sould be able to get it to sit really low with just c notching the frame.

my 50 caddy was set up with a 2" c notch and 3" blocks dearched springs and sat really low. you are going to have to cut the wheel houses to get it to sit any lower then mine did.

  18. Congratulations.....54 is my favourite caddy year.....they stopped making good ones after that y'know! ;) I've come close to buyin' a black 54 CDV TWICE (the same car each time).....and it's just been the wrong time for me to do anything. I'm hoping "third time's the charm!" (or however that saying goes!)

Have fun with the kustomizing! Keep us posted with progress too!

Dante, I have quite a bit of "extra" stuff...including the w/s pieces if you don't find it out there...off my '55...they are similar ya know? Also, my bro has some trim and stuff left over from his '54 Caddy...PM me with your needs!

    Cool man!

Don't you love driving behind the fletbed. . . just seeing your car move down the road (even if it's on a flatbed) is pretty cool. I always take photos of that too.

That's a big flat backyard you have. . . seems like you'll either have to fill it with cars just to keep the weeds down.
