Any Colorado HAMB'ers going to the Golden car cruise this Saturday? I won't have my Desoto but will be there in my 67 Cadillac.
I'll be there in my white 61 unibody with my logo on the doors. Usually a bunch of us end up at the church up on the hill down towards the west end.
It is probably the largest car gathering in Colorado. I would say easily a couple thousand cars...to the point that there isn't a parking spot to be had. There is everything from cool old hot rods to the new OT stuff. It is going to be great weather so I would anticipate it will be packed. I usually get there around 10:30 and stay till dark.
You've NEVER been to the Golden cruise...??? Wow, have you been missing out...!!! It pulls nearly every hot rod, street rod, kustom, cl***ic and ra...ehr...other types of car to the street/sonic/restaurants/fast food joint/auto parts parking lot/downtown in Golden...!!! Better get there early for your own parking spot ...!!! I'll be driving the latest build-my '60 Chevy two door wagon...!!! R-
I'm going to the swap meet at Bandimere drag strip just down the road. Looking for parts for my 27 roadster build.
when will the june cruise be? I will be in arvada to visit my son and attend the goodguys show in Loveland.
It will be Saturday, June 7th. The Golden cruise is the first Saturday of the month during the summer.
Golden Cruise time? It must be summer!! We usually hang out near the Sonic, LOTS of neat cars to drool over, and 1/2 price shakes after 8:00!
We were there in the '47 and Rollingmenace in his '51 and once again had a great time and man what a turnout! If you have never been make plans to make it a least once this summer.
Yeah, it was amazing as usual. Perfect weather...it was packed. I can't imagine how busy it will be next month. I was there about 10:15am and it was already busy. Next month will have to be there earlier to get a good spot. Where you parked by the Subway? That is a very cool Hudson!
Yes we were parked right in front of Subway. That's the usual spot for us. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
It was a great day and fantastic cars! Many of them I have never seen before. I also saw 4 or 5 old Mopars that I don't remember from before. Lots of OT stuff....the new Corvette seems to be spreading like lice in South Texas. There was a monster 3 wheeler trike that was unbelievable. It looked like they took a semi truck cab and ripped it off and started fresh.....it was cool. I will upload some pictures when my batter comes back up.
Yeah, everyone keeps telling me the economy is ****ty...but there's a lot of new Corvette owners that have extra cash laying around or they're deep in debt...!!! Never seen so many new 'Vettes at one cruise. I think it was a bit more than ripping off the cab...that frame was lower than the axles/tires, the diesel engine was midships AND it was a three-wheeler...!!! Haven't seen too many three wheeler semi trucks running around on our highways...!!! I'd be scared if I did...!!! It was an amazing turn-out for a holiday weekend...after seeing the 12 hour line of cars heading for the mountains on Thursday, I figured most of Denver had gone to the hills and the turn-out would be sp****...wasn't the case...!!! R-
I caught a glipse of the trike thing, figured it was along the lines of the RR donk model a pickup and didnt bother looking further. Had to hot wire in my electric fan as my relay took a ****. Still had a great time. Always a good time at Golden!
