I want to use the Seymour sunburst metal flake to paint some scalops onto my fleetline. For those of you who have used it in areas where it is exposed to sun and rain, how well does it stand up to that type of abuse?

    Thanks.

It'll be as durable as the clearcoat you put over it. I used Transtar urethane over the carb scoops I did and they're holding up fine. The only thing about the Seymour flake I don't care for is on a cloudy day it's not reflective at all. In ambient light that is. As long as the sun is shinnin it's beautifull but when the clouds are out it's all together a different story. I dont remember "traditional" flake jobs being that way. The red picture does'nt show the flake very well but it really sparkles in the sunlight.[IMG]

I have that paint on my b*** (see the b*** post) and it looks great and hold up fine. Bury it in clear. As for the sunlight issue, you'll have the same problem with ANY flake. Flake reflects light. No light, no sparkle.
