You can upgrade the early falcon chassis to 5 lug but the problem is the pre 63 cars had a similar suspension design as the early mustangs but the components were different. It's not real difficult you just need to replace everthing, lower I beam, spindles and steering components to the 65 parts.

thats mine. . . now it looks like this. .. single holley 1904 glass bowl

and the outside looks exactly like that white 64 with the shave and the silver flake roof. . . i don't have pictures on this computer

. . . remember though whatever you do to them in the end it's still just a falcon

You bore holes in the log manifold for the outer carbs and then the offy adapter claps over with o-rings to provide the seal.

And I second all that stuff about swapping the suspension to heavier v-8 stuff front and rear. . . collect all of the parts and you car easily swap it all in one weekend.

Cool, thanks. That must have been one of the more brainless moments in Ford history, a one piece head/intake setup. what a pain in the ass.

Yah i'm hoping to do that in the future. My bro has a 65 stang project next to mine in our garage and he's planning on replacing all his stock stuff with upgrated parts so i might inheret his leftovers to run on my 61.

I LOVE inline Fords. Getting all the leftovers is better then Christmas! Some of that stuff is stupid money for a stupid part.

No you GET to use mustang parts. . . they are really cheap and readily available. I mean- who would want mustang parts anyway? ha, ha.

I don't know much about roundbody swaps but I think it is the same. . . just find an early v-8 mustang or 64-65 falcon in a junkyard and take the rear end, drive shaft, front spindles and front steering linkage. Also look for a 76 granada/monarch for disk brakes up front- that's a bolt-on too.

  11. hell yes. I helped my buddy build a 61-63 (depends on which hood he uses). It has a straight axle, disc brakes all around, radiused rear wheelwells, 9" rear with detroit locker. Custom rolled pans front and rear. V8's do fit. This one has a 468Cu. big block chevy in it. It's quite the pavement pounder. Too bad you're so far away. He's mentioned he'd like to sell it, but he's in Wisconsin.

If it's in too gooda shape may not want to go hacking into a $5k car but I did see a 60 or 61 that someone cut the top off of and slammed and it was sick.

  15. Here are some links that will help:

I've dropped a Pinto 8" rear end in mine with Granada disk brakes up front along with a power booster. All very good upgrade; however I should have narrowed the rear end, it's tight.
