I believe the car in question belongs to Paul......he used to post here.....he went by the name " The Gooch " or something like that. His car had some history.....

Rudy fixed it.......as only Rudy would .....

My hat is off to Brookville. Here's the rub for most folks, $25,000 buys a lot of car! I paid $7,000 more than the body alone and got a '32 woodie that I have been driving all over the place. I know of a '32 5 window that was so nice it had a polished iron block, and the hidden stuff was as pretty as the top stuff. It had a blown small block, jag rear, etc. It went for $34K . Too cheap, maybe.
I know they aren't 3 window coupes, but that sure seems high to me for a body only. Maybe I'm just to dumb to get it. Oh well, they are great for those that want 'em that bad.

Other neat stuff I have seen lately, if you don't HAVE to have a 3 window Deuce. '34 Phaeton, #1 car, $40K, '35 Phaeton, nice, $20K, '34 Roadster, #1 car, $40K. I know two of 'em sold already. Is this like the HD mantra, "If you have to ask the question, you wouldn't understand the answer?" I kinda get it, but there is so much cool stuff around, I personally never stick to just one idea of what is prime fun to own stuff is.

Here's my '32 Woodie, bought two weeks ago.

I've got an original 3W I've had since '77. It is not perfect, some rust in the 1/4's, perfect doors. Nice floor, dash, old chromed window moldings. It was a complete car and I drove it for about 10 years. Being that I bought it in '77, I am not into it very much at all. One of the major well known car builders asked me about the body a few years ago and offered me more than a new Brookville body costs for my bare body. It was tempting. And it still is. I have been over there and seen what they have and the new ones are going to be that nice. It sure would be easier to build one out of a brand new body. But it is not the same as owning an original. I may be sorry one of these days for not doing it.

I believe that this one belongs to a guy named Paul from Santa Barbara...
I'm not sure if it is the same car though, I read somewhere that this car was a history car (I'm thinkin Hop Up online). This body does look similar to the one that we did bring home from Oakland though, I ask Elmo where it ended up.

The Paul guy posted a lot of photos of the 3W before/ during/ after he got the coupe. It was a well known coupe in it's time ....at the dry lakes and such. Paul was a home builder or in the construction business if I remember correctly. We talked a fair amount by PM's or email months ago. This was late 2004 to January of 2005.....time frame, I was getting my 32 3W .......out of long term storage from the previous owners barn ( off the road since 1968 ) .......so we had things in common. I have lost contact with him since he left here......some kind of controversy with some HAMBer or something... :( ......but I forget the details....some folks sort of ragged on him as a gold chainer.....cause he spent so much money......openly.

If ....He has left here ....... I have seen his posts on occasion elsewhere on the web........or photos of his car anyway. :)

Sorry to read that, it takes a lot of money to save some cars, I'm glad there are guys out there that can spend what it takes to save them, if they didn't they'd be lost forever. Just because a car has a market value of 50-100+K doesn't always mean the guy has that in it.:)
