This is a repost of a blog. There are some pics here that will appeal to HAMBers and some that won't. In any case, I really didn't take many pics just the ones that interested me. Hawaii doesn't exactly have a booming traditional scene. Lots of guys here love their billets. And Hawaii being so close to asia, and chocked full of asians, they love their rice rockets. I've refrained from the whiny rice rockets here and if there's any Japanese cars featured it's only the cl***ics. Hope this post is not too O/T. Nice 32 Ford 5-window coupe. A little too much billet for my taste but still nicely done. This guy's car featured a neat push****on shifter on the ceiling! Sounds like a Mopar man to me! This one's called the "Salt Shaker." 34 Ford coupe. Just think how this would look in bias-plys with pie crusts and 16" wheels up front. A really nice car, but the radials just kill it. What's with the orange AND the red? I still like this car though. 37 Ford. Yet another car just screaming with billet parts, but very nicely done. Andy's Chevy. You can't see it in the picture, but the roof has been metalflaked black. I've seen this car in person numerous times and yet today was the first time I've seen it rolling. It looks killer. Andy is one of the few guys I know that likes hot rods and mild customs and doesn't use billet up the ***. Andy keeps it real, son. ;-) A really sweet baby blue VW Bug. Gotta love those luggage racks. Dig the Wolfsburg badge on the hood. I forget what these are called. Anyone? You don't see many of these on the road. This guy was rolling with two of em. Absolutely beautiful VW Ghia. This guy drove from Mililani to town; on the way, his headlight trim ring and headlight dropped right off. It later occurred to him what all the drivers' screaming on the freeway was about. One of the guys in our club joked that it was merely 'cold air induction.' Ha ha. Still, losing your trim ring can be a bummer. Originals never sell for cheap. Old school Bronco, all jacked up high. This one pretty much speaks for itself. Porsche Speedster replica. This one's a fibergl*** kit car. The originals are extremely rare and usually fetch ridiculous prices. Still, it's nice to see this body style on the road. One of my favorites. A very nicely done 60's VW Ghia. These are the guys that make you feel ashamed that you didn't take any toys for the kids. Both the bikes and the entire back seat is filled with donations. Yet another car you rarely see here. While VW Buses and Bugs are fairly common fare, you hardly ever see nice examples of VW Squarebacks, Fastbacks and Notchbacks. A really nice Fastback. The Datsun/Nissan Z Club made a showing. This was one of the nicest 240Z's there. Everything works perfectly on this car, from the covered headlights to the rear wing to the deep dish rims. This photo really does not do this car justice. Here we are, the Mopar Crew pulling out of Magic Island. Way off yonder in front is Tommy's green Charger, Randy's champagne-colored 68 Cuda fastback, Joe's Dodge truck with a custom koa bed and Joe's 66 Valiant convertible. Another shot of our caravan. The order got all mixed up. Here's Joe's truck in back of me now. People tried to maintain an orderly line of cl***ic cars from Magic Island to the Bandstand but tour buses and other drivers decided to keep cutting into our lane. I recall some years back the entourage had police ******s or coned off lanes. The family portrait, from left to right: Tommy's Charger, Randy's 68 Cuda fastback, Chris' 64 Chrysler 300 with a 440, Desmond's 68 Cuda Coupe, Ye Olde Valiante, Joe's Dodge truck and 66 Valiant. Unfortunately, because of the chaos of the road situation and for other reasons a lot of the other guys didn't stick around. The End.
Toys For Tots cruise is the best cruise of the year, but unfortunately it is the last cruise of the year.************* the car that you forgot the name is an 48 Anglea
