http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1963...592998606QQcategoryZ39405QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem but i thought it'd interest a few of you guys....
I'd say Rest In Peace '63 Savoy............ I don't care how famous................even Elvis is dead. JayD
I guess the mopar guys could do that deal, I think I'd have to just restore the picture and leave the rubble.
A guy in a junkyard did that for me once. I snapped a rear axle shackle on a pontiac. so he brought out a similar vintage with a fork lift lifted it up on its side and said "now which part do you want?" Luckily I didn't want the p***enger side door too!
Looks like the car was wasted by a bad wreck before it got to that field......one thing though....how does the seller or bidder for that matter know they are the same car from the pics?? Not enough to tell.......
What are the crushers paying per ton now? That thing might be worth a cup of coffee. Ok ok, well, maybe some instant coffee. RIP
By the time you replace all the panels with all the rust and cancer, and got new panles for the ones to far gone or just missing, it would be a replica by then. What a waste. Jonney
Yeah the history of the VIN tag is what is for sale here. Unfortunately, every prospective buyer will find out that that is the only "original" thing about this race car and I still don't think it would be worth any money to speak of. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think so.
resurrectin that one kinda reminds me of the guy sellin the original ax used by george washington to cut down the cherry tree. the axhead had been replaced once & the handle a couple of times but...mel
I can't believe the guy selling it actually think's it's worth something, regardless of it's history.. One can look at that and plainly see there isn't anything left of it. ****'s, but it's nothing more than s**** from what i can see.
Get it, and leave it as-is, it's a piece of drag racing history. At least it's still in existence. Might make a neat coffee table.
Wouldn't that be "Rust in Peace"? Not a whole lot there and what is there is bent, mangled or rusted. Might be fun ofr someone with a whole lot of time and money on their hands. But you''d still have what was left of an old car with a bunch of other stuff bolted to it. maybe I should be all over it?
Even the "Funny Car Graveyard" Up in the Northwest wouldn't want that one. And that's a place that made me sad...
Rebuild instructions: 1. Unscrew gas cap and remove. 2. Replace car with working 1963 Plymouth Savoy. 3. Screw on gas cap. 4. If Car fails to run replace gas cap.
I think that is the worst case of "rode hard put up wet and striped out I have ever seen!! At least it will be preserved on the inernet now SR66
