What rear spring are you running in your AV8?

I want to use my '46 banjo rear end on my A with the stock rear-set shackle mounts and unsplit wishbones. My frame has a 4" kick up. I'd like to get a nice drop, nothing too radical. My stock '46 spring is shot and in need of replacement.

The question is: Should I go with a Model A type spring with reversed eyes or a 40's style spring with the reduced arch? Also, Are there any drawbacks in using the stock spring mounts (placing the axle too far forward)?

    Thanks,
    Devin

i use stock springs and just remove enough leafs until the ride height is where i like it. ***make sure your shocks ar in good working order**** if you do this. as far as the stock spring mounts - i don't know exactly what you are asking.

I guess what I'm saying is should I mount the springs to the stock mounts (behind the axle) or should I weld mounts on top of the axle tube and center the axle under the spring.

Whatever trips yer trigger. Will probably have to alter driveshaft anyway, but on top of axle will make it higher and require more kick-up. Personally I don't care for kick-up, a nessesary evil.
