If not Stockton, who mods steel wheels to order?

I keep running across a few "Stockton Wheel ****s!" type threads, which has made me kind of leery. I was going to have them mod some wheels for me, but I don't want to wait six months...

So here's the deal: I have a '66 Olds Toronado, which is FWD of course, and uses wheels with a lot of offset. I've looked, and there's no aftermarket wheel that will fit, without some radical surgery. The plan then, was to have a shop like Stockton press the centers out of some stockers (I have a pile of 'em) and press them into new outers.

The stock rims are 15"x7" wide, and I was hoping to bump that up to at least 17"x9", or even 18"x9".

It's also a very heavy car (pushing 5K lb) and any modded wheel needs to be able to withstand both the weight and the torque (over 500 ft/lb.) I was also looking for either chrome or powedercoat.

So is there a shop out there that can do something like this, as well as Stockton, but perhaps more reliably, or better quality, or just faster? And about what is something like this going to cost per wheel, if you know?

    Thanks.
    Doc.

Pete built my wheels. They look nice and 3/4 are fine one is slightly out of round but usable/cruisable. It balanced but I wouldn't race w/ it. However, check recent posts-Pete's not done so well with other folks. Saw this ad in the recent Street Rodder-you might check them out:

    www.team3wheels.com

Says they make them all to order.

    Doc-

Sorry, no help with wheel modification sources, but I need a question answered - if you would be so kind.

I'm using a rear end out of a '65 (full-size) Pontiac for my hot rod and (since the rear end is sooo wide) had thought about the possibility of using Toronado wheels - because of there extreme inward offset - to effectively narrow my overall rear-end tread width (without spending the big $$ to have the axles and housing cut down).

I've prowled the local swap meets for years and have never run across any to find out for myself. So, my question is: Do those early Toronado wheels use the '"standard" 5-lug Buick/Olds/Pontiac bolt pattern (i. e., will they fit on my "big Pontiac" axles)?

If so, you mention having a "pile" of them. I didn't see anything regarding where you live, but if it's within reasonable driving distance of me (SE Nebraska), I'd be interested in buying a pair.

    Thanks -
