Yeah, I saw that one in a car show in Finland a year and half ago. It is from Sweden and it is CRAZY! Not very beautiful, though... They showed a nice movie where they were driving on the field. I think there are some more photos and maybe some video clips somewhere on the Net.

Don't be too mad if the skis only last a few minutes before you mangle the fuck out of em. A sled weighs about as much as your motor. The track takes most of the weight, provides flotation, and lowers ground pressure. Maybe you best look at em and make ya some big ones to carry the weight. Fun idea tho.

I think that with some off road mudders you should get great traction! Now just find a pair for free...
That looks like it would be seriously fun, make sure to try a run without chains on some ice, sure would make it east to spin em'.
