First thread I've posted, so hey to everybody. I browse and search from time to time and you guys are very helpful, so thanks. Anyway, made a stencil and finally got around to painting it on today. I know some people like and don't like but I think it gives it a little character(???) I was thinking of adding an odd skool phone number but not sure yet.
Not to be an ***hole, but I suggest going to the top and reading the rules. If you don't post an intro, there are those who will raise hell with you. After you post your info, I'm sure we'd all be happy to see more of your work. Welcome!
Post that intro for your own protection. Some of the Newbie Police can be a little rough. And welcome.
FYI- odd skool or old skool is ****ing lame. tired, used up, worn out.... I am tired of people typing that ****. There are Hot Rods on this board...If you aren't into them, I am sure there are some other boards that are Kool.............
EDIt: oops, this isn't the slot car thread! PS, do an intro and the clouds will part and the rays of sunshine shall appear above the horizon......at which moment, 3 horsmen shall appear......never mind!
To see if they can take the heat, and to see if they have something to offer....many folk just look, lurk & learn....many come & open their mouth & spout ****, get flamed & leave... I like the logo....but PLEASE PEOPLE.....Read the rules
Since I'm new too I should be clear on these rules as well, yet when I go to the top I don't see any 'rules' or links to rules. I must be missing something up there. Furthermore I don't know what cons***utes a proper intro, but the guy said firstly that he was new, had been reading a while, and decided to post a picture of the work he'd done to see what everyone thought. Instead the focus of the thread becomes the improper way he presented himself. This thread seems no different to me than if a member of higher seniority were to post a topic about his/her logo design, or any other topic for that matter. Again I must be missing something, but from what I understood he was looking for input on his design. I'm not complaining, just trying to understand, so if someone could direct me to this 'rules and introduction format' page up top I'll shut my fat mouth. By the way - not a bad looking logo.
Ok well, I forgot to do the intro thing for a while too. And I felt like quite the tard when i finally PAID ATTENTION to the top of the main page.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=5 it says in big, bold letters "New to the HAMB? INTRODUCE yourself here!" Maybe I was lazy, maybe just retarded (leaning more towards the latter on that one), but I finally did it. It seems lame, but it gives people a chance to see who you are and what your about. It also provides you with the perfect opportunity to sound like an *** talking about yourself.... R-E-A-D, it make thing much simpler for everyone.
That logo isnt bad looking, it is a little small though. You also need something like a phone number and location. You have lots of empty space on that door.....use it.
old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, old skool, ****! cokeman, do an intro. But you'll only get a portion of the ***holes off your back the others will be there waiting till you say something they don't like.... and then the majority will be there to help you out and i like your logo, needs something though... phone/address/illustration/icon....
It would have been easier to R-E-A-D it if it had shown up before. That link honestly hasn't shown up on the top of my menu until I went to that link. I don't know why or how, but my internet doesn't display things on sites sometimes. I thought I had read the main board about twenty times and when I still didn't find it trust me I definitely felt like quite the tard. Well as I said, now that I know where it is I'll shut my mouth and head over there. Thanks. I don't mean to thread jack so.........I agree that the logo could use an address and phone number, etc., even if your business (provided you have one) isn't rod related. Nothing as bold as the logo - maybe just 'striped on. Some Greek-style 'striping on the rest of the truck would look ***s too.
Welcome Cokeman, to simply the coolest place on the Net! Ya gotta do a "Intro" there, bub. Then it's all good. The door looks good. Why don'tcha add a phone # and maybe a "business" name as secondary copy. Here's a few examples for inspiration and eye kandy. Again, welcome!
Intro, yadda yadda... no-no on the old skool... yadda yadda... I just wanna see some more pics of your F-100! Ben
Joel, those look good. i really like the Wayne's logo. looks like a piece of my work on it. i like it!
I like hot rods and customs. This looks like a custom truck. I like it. Get off his back....after he does an intro.
Wow, I didn't realize how close the images resemble each other! What do they say about plagiarism; "it's the sincerest form of flattery". Joel
Welcome, looks great. Did you ever notice the only ones who get hung up on intros, and bust peoples balls over them are people who have been here a year or less? What's up with that? You have a nice truck, and you actually did work on it. To me that's intro enough!!
truth be known i propably copped it from somewhere unconsciously. thanks for the kind words Joel and Larry.
LOL, well, just speaking for myself, I'm so hung up on intros that I didn't even do one for about 7 mo. I hardly ever post on here (though I seem to be running my trap a little more lately for some reason), so perhaps that's why it slipped my mind. Eh, chalk it up to crankiness after a long day.
