So I aquired a heavy 32 axle for my tub (thanks Bellm) and decided that it needed some holes in it, 23 of them. 1" holes that are 2" center to center.

    Pics for your viewing pleasure.

looks good but kind of risky putting holes on the outside of the perch holes.

I was debating the same thing but the axle is about 3/4" thick between the perch pin holes and the king pin holes.

Oh ya the rolling bones guys' are drilled out there.

Looks good....I hope strength wont be an issue. That wheel and tire combo is going to rule.

Yup. Rolling Bones did mine. 23 one inch holes. Strength is not an issue with a big beam '32 axle.

So where did you have the 23 holes drilled/milled, CK? Or did you do it yourself? If you had a commercial vendor do it for you, what did they charge for all 23 holes?

I drilled them on a mill. I think places charge about $200 to do it. I was debating on doing it with a holesaw but am very glad I used the drill bit the axle is way thicker than a regular axle on the ends.

You're right. It was $200 to have mine done.

  15. HAHA I was wondering where the other 6 holes came from. I knew my drilled axle had only 17 holes.

That one looks great undroped and drilled out on the ends. Not to mention all the other holes in the suspension;)

    Nice job.

WOW!! Looks good!! You don't waste any time! Looks a lot better than it did in my storage building, getting grease on me off the spindles every time I walked by.:D
That 32 heavy axle is seriously meaty, holes outside perch should be no problem
I don't have an immediate use for the superbell you swapped but I am going to go ahead grind the Superbell off, have my Buddy Keith drill it since he is in a drilling mood and will do it on the cheap. Probably take the Speedway tube axle out from under my roadster replace it with this one when I redo the car. I'm glad you are obviously happy with the trade.

Hotwheel is going to kick my ass for getting rid of gennie 32 parts.

Kyle, what can I say, you just like me 'cause I feed you Corona when you come visit! When you gonna bring 327 parts over so I can watch you build a badass engine?

    Ahhh...Coronas...my kinda guy. ;)

  20. Is that 32 axle a commercial one? I tried to buy one quite a few years ago and always thought that is wasn't a passenger model. Wish the %#@%$#$ guy would have sold it to me. Looks really cool . . . and you can tell there is more than enough meat on it!

Question: Did you use a carbide bit - I've heard those axles are plenty tough? What size bit did you start with?

I drilled 1/2" holes and then 1" holes with regular bits.
