I dunno, man. I've got a buddy that dumped some stuff together for his '48 Poncho, ended up with satin orange. Even he couldn't stand it and went for a repaint. I guess you'll never know until you unmask it tho'.
What the hell is satan orange? I always thought satan was more a red dude, at least when he speaks to me in my dreams he is
Here is a pic of PanheadGeorge's truck, a 60 chevy. I wish I had a better shot, but this is all I could come up with. I like the color, of course you have to like the color orange ALOT.
man that striper sure was a cool cat. to bad he fell off the face of the earth. ( just fn around chris)
I've been tossing around the idea of a suede orange for my truck myself, maybe more copper in the color than say a UT vols orange. I would love to see some rides painted like this as well. Will you be using a tinted primer, base coat with no clear, flattner in the clear, or a one stage paint like the industrial stuff?
i got a pic of a ford pu in a file but its huge and i dont know how to get the size down.. anyone on here know how??? i could mail it to ya and you could post it ... its relly close to what im looking for... suede is what i should have written.....i dont beleive in the debill...im a jebuss fan LOL flking the top white with red wheels... goin to look like a minniapoles moline coming atcha////////todd

This is fellow HAMBer, Hillbilly Hot rod's car.. no white top though.. i think it looks pretty damn good.
hell yes... those r both real close to what im looking for .. as soon as i find a way to shrink a photo, i will send that ford pu photo here....
if its just a beater toss some hugger orange in some grey primer & add as much as you want to to get the color you like and shoot it.beat around with that for the summer then go for the paint if you want to keep the look.be cheaper..I've tinted alot of primer for beaters thru the years they were some of my funnest cars .I didn't have to worry about light scratch's and stuff, hell you put a few good coats on and you can wash the light scratch's out of it with hot soapy water.just my 2 cents
One time in high school some kid had "SATIN RULES!" written on his notebook. For the rest of his high school career the poor kid was known as "satin" I dont think anyone knew his real name. My friends and I were mean. Haha. I guess people get "satan" and "satin" mixed up all the time. As for the paint....... My car is flat blue. I think it looks pretty cool. My buddy owns a body shop and he told me Spies-Hecker makes colored primer to go under pearl paints so its easier to cover. He gave me the paint chips of the primers and there is every color in the rainbow. You might try checking that out. Nick
well, im glad to see that high school paid off!!! i cant beleive i kept putting satan instead of satin... im been out of school for 16 years and didnt do good back then either.... my car isnt a beater, shes real straight .. needs a few little minors worked out but thats about it... im goin to do her good. one shot kinda deal. have the funds and this is my hippie buds slower time of year in his shop...todd

Ok, the cars not traditional, but it's satin orange. 69 Camaro two stage, no clear coat. Been painted maybe 5 years this way. Dean (ps) here's my shinny Roadster. Glasurit single stage fleet color.
somehow i ended up aquiring an antique tractor calender this weekend. it had pic of minniapolis moline.... thought of your car
Now that is funny!!! First time I laughed today - thanks!! Regarding orange - what about adding a little flake in it?? Or silver flake the roof??
