Ya, another. I was pop'd by the intro police a while back and have hesitated on writing an intro. I kinda feel like I'm signing up for a dating service or something. So, setting aside my homophobia, here's my intro...but with a twist. I'm gonna list some of the quotes that I use on a daily basis, three quotes from others, and follow that with some random thoughts AND my brush with fame. Quotes I live by: "Run what you brung" "Angle of the Dangle" "I ain't here for a long time, I'm here for a good time" "Kick his ***, Seab***" "Pack-ah-Lunch" "No chicks in the pits" Three Quotes from others that sum it all up... "You know how to make a small fortune in Nascar?" "Start with a large one", Junior Johnson "It's so hot out here, I have to smoke just to breath" Jerry Crawford "This one's got a mouth like a Bodine" Dale Sr., comment while holding up a large mouth b***. Random Thoughts... A Sports Coupe without a top is just that... A Sports Coupe without a top. Don't be confused. Jenna Jamison...YES! When I hit the Lotto, I'm building a bad *** wrecking yard... and no imported ****. The 'spongy' type beer coolers work for the 24oz. cans. Fibergl*** is for boats If I drink 1, I'm gonna drink 12 Dave Marcis is an American Hero. Jeff Gordon is not. Cabo... go there once, be there twice. My brush with fame... I'm kinda friends with the guy who has a shop next to Cole's. My current inventory of rides... 30' and 31' Ford Roadsters 69' Road Runnrer 67' Camaro and other cars in various states of dis-repair. Check out the pic... I've always dug viewing "Shop Sceene" in the various mags. Ross
This AIN'T no dating service... and while all that stuff is well and good...it still doesn't tell us a GD thing about YOU!!! So you have a friend that has a shop next to Cole...BFD...doesn't mean a thing to me! Wanna try again? R-
How did I know that a guy named "Roscoe" would have an orange Mopar in his stable?? I love it I love it...HOT pursuit!!!!
Don't worry about the intro police. You did fine, I may not have posted near as much as most of the guys that have been here as long as I have. I like lurking sometimes. As long as you have something to offer to the community...
Why is it so hard for some people to have a little respect for others?...I do know around here you reap what you sow! You got shot down by the intro police because you failed to tell the HAMBers anything about yourself!!! This last attempt is Just as bad!....you don't like gl*** cars,,,Hey,thats o.k.with me!,,,,,,It's your opinion and I personal don't GAF!!! and these sayings? What the Hell is that all about? TRY AGAIN HRP
Roscoe. I think you did just fine. Sometimes folks around here get pissed off if you have a sense of humor. Don't worry about it... As for a brush with greatness..I have you beat. When I was about five years old, in McDaniels Pharmacy in Kanses City Missouri, I got my hand stuck in a gum ball machine. Guess who got me un-stuck? Non other than KC Royals pitching ace Dan Quisenberry. HAH! Beat that! ALSO, I ate ice cream with members of the metal band Anthrax at a Baskin Robbins across the street from the Uptown theatre in 1985. Good to meetcha. We have been a little dry on at***ude lately.. -Abone.
I apologize for the dry humor, 40SD and HRP. I respect everyone's opnion, their views, and their likes/dislikes. I think you can tell things about a person with quotes they use or their general beliefs. I could have wrote the usual stuff, but that would only be falling in line like so many others. 4t64rd, thanks for taking an interest in my roadsters. One is 'in progress' as you can see from the picture (31' on original 32' rails, early GM rear, heavy 32' axel with a 4"+ drop, blah, blah, blah. No power plant yet... The other, the 30', is a perfectly restored museum piece. Yep. I plan on building a period correct 30' High boy roadster. The period will be 1958 into the early 60's. I also plan on using the 'Champ' that is on the floor, a 348 3x2, and 'bits and pieces' from a 58' Corvette. I've had this car for 15 or so years and have finally come to the conclusion that I have to do it... museum piece or not. Yes, a guy with the name 'Roscoe' has to have a 69' Road Runner (or Challenger). I only wish it was a Hemi. ABone...Man, I thought my brush with fame was good, but having ice cream with Anthrax??? DAAANG!!!, you would have been the **** if you had the Road Runner!!! It's all good... even gl***, if the price is right. Ross
Welcome Roscoe, you won me over!.... nice roadster, you said you have 2 roadsters..........what will power the other one? HRP
No need to apologize Roscoe, you are who you are... Personally, I like to know a little more about the man BEHIND the quotes...WHY he thinks quotes will endear him to the m***es, WHY he thinks he doesn't need to "fall in line like so many others", WHY his "general beliefs" aren't even listed. Seems to me that ANYONE building a roadster, let alone two, is "falling in line like so many others". Here's a quote for you Rosc, "Imitation is the greatest form of flattery"...now please, oh please, ensure me that both will be painted RED!!! What ever happened to "individuality"? I don't see any here, Rosc (save your name!)...not even in the Plymouth you own... As for a brush with fame...my "hot rod" was featured, and I acted, with John Force (funny car pilot, if you don't know), in a video that was featured on NHRA Today...how's that grab ya? R-
