You can see it all you just have to be quick...The swap meet is huge and so is the the car section...I usually get there at 5am...Have fun.
i'll be there with a friend of mine. parking is a ***** at 6:30, definitely get there early and bring comfortable shoes.
i'll be there.....i parked in the parking lot once, i bought rims and they wouldn't let me out (and back in without paying at the gate again). so now i sleep there....screw traffic. if you bring in a pre '75 car/truck you can get in around the back for the sell/show section, it's $20 for 2 people (not sure how much more per person after 2) and your vehicle. the gate is open sat through sunday. i get there anywhere from 10pm to 2am on sat night/sun morn, look at the cars already there and then sack out in the back of the panel. i can get parts, drop them back off at the panel, get a coke and go back to the swapmeet. it can be kinda noisey with some of the people partying, but it beats the line to get up the hill. also if you leave later then 11:30 or noon you'll be stuck in traffic to get out of the gates. so look for the panel say hi, leave a "you ****" note............whatever. I can't wait till the big 3 swap!!!!!!
really? that's cheap. i had taken my Ranger there to sell it and we had to tow it in and it cost me $100 to get in, and of course it didn't sell.
I haven't been there in a while, but my plan of attack was to go in on Sat. when people are setting up. The show dosen't officially start untill Sunday, but you can pay to get in on Sat. On Sun I walk all the way to the back to the overflow area. That is where all the "regular joe's" sell. You know, the guys cleaning out there garages. I have found the best stuff at the best prices there. Good luck and have fun!!! Mike
yea get there the night before, its a blast! froze my nuts off ! I sell 80% of my **** on sat. night. sunday I walk around and check out all the guys re-selling it all for 50% more! LOL! its has gotten bad the last few years, lots of NEW ****, clothing, toys, ect. still its OK, I need to goto SD for the big 3 some day! I going to try and make it out sunday.
yea, if it's '75 and newer it's a $100 and if you need the tow vehicle there you have to buy 2 spots (they have a free tow vehicle parking section in the corner) . if you drive a '31 (?) or older STOCK vehicle in it's FREE!........ it's that stock part that gets me.
damn, i need to get there earlier on sat if people are selling......i still don't know all the swapmeet ins and outs (after all these years), i really need to start talking to people....... yea bring a good sleeping bag during winter, mine is -20 and waterproof which can in handy one year in the back of my elco. if you want a lot of T, A and 32-34 parts it's the BIG 3. it's sat/sun with a friday set-up but again i heard swapping (of the best parts/deals) is going on friday!!!!.........
I'm not there this time, but get there about 5-6 times a year. I usually go with a friend of mine. We always tow a car over (older that 75). We usually leave Friday afternoon, go straight to the fairgrounds, and drop the trailer. We leave in the tow vehicle, stay in a motel, and have a good breakfast at 6AM, back to the fairgrounds and wait for the gates to open at 9AM. We spend the day roaming the isles, watching what people are putting out for sale. We make some of the best deals on Saturday. Good night sleep on Saturday, good breakfast Sunday AM and go back. park in the tow vehicle/ trailer parking area, and roam the overflow area first. I agree, some of the best stuff is for sale there from regular guys, not vendors, or the guys who sell from the same spot every meet. All this for $20.00, can't beat it.
i'll be there.... i'll see you guys around. i've been there on Saturday afternoon and bought some good stuff before the sunday crowd showed up.
jan 15 and march 5...........no feb. maybe san diego or long beach. pomona is every 2 months during winter and every month during summer (june, july, august).
wierd but good day at the swap, found 3.....yes 3 spare tire mounts for the '36, one even had the front cover (too much $$$)...so i have 2 now. also found a '67 elco 3 speed manual trans with OVERDRIVE for a $150 for the panel, it felt smooth and fluid was clean. as the hamb as witness i'll never go under 60 on the freeway again!!!!
Thing I miss is camping out overnight from Saturday into Sunday and yes, getting great deals on Saturday...
