chop shops in Nor Cal???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by PBR Allstar, Dec 2, 2005.

  1. Okay, put up a post a few days ago about photo chopping my '40 ponitac coupe, now I'm wondering if anyone knows some shops around the greater san francisco bay area that I could talk to? I would like somewhat of a small low key shop, I'd be interested in working on the porject as well, I'm a fabricator and mechanic by trade, but I know this is a bit over my head but would love the opportunity to learn about it first hand. Hope to hear some ideas, Any input is appreciated.

Ok, I know you said Bay area, but I hafta put in a plug for my friends at Roseville Rod & Custom (Sacramento suburb) 916-784-3931

Super nice, laid back attitude, excellent metal shaping, machinist and chasis building skills. What more do ya want?

  4. Yeah, Brandon from Jerry Sezar's sent me a PM, sounds like a cool thing going on there, anyone else know anything about it?

There's a guy in Napa named Kevin Gallagher. He's got a small shop, traditional rods etc., When I stopped by he was chopping a Model A coupe. Seems like a pretty cool guy. Sorry, I dont Have a #. PM me if you want driving instructions.

Give Ferrari's Hot Rod Shop in Sacramento (just down the street from Vintage Ford) a call. (916) 858-1952. Small shop - does excellent metal work.

Yep Gilroy Chop Shop is the shit! Thay did most of the work on my '47. They're only $35 and hour too. That's like a quarter of what other shops charge. get in there while they're still cheap! PM me if you want Eric's number.

Give John Aiello of Aiello Customs a call in Pacheco: (510)332-4256 He's a low-key guy and he works by himself along with 1 or 2 guys that occasionally help him out. His shop is so low-key, he doesn't have a sign out front! His work is top notch tho. Not sure how much he'd be willing to work with you on your top but I know he's cool enough that you could discuss it with him.
