I'm rebuilding a 53 Ford convertible, a car that was built as a custom in the early sixties. I did not build it, but owned it in the 70's, and bought it for a second time in 2008. In the process now of re-doing the body, and most of the floor area ahead of the rear seat is shot - I can save the tunnel only. Anyone point me to a manufacturer of new floor panels? I would be looking for something that closely replicates the original. I have redone all the flloor bracing, and have new rockers, fender patch panels, etc. But I cannot find any repro floor panels. Thanks for any help. Steve
Go ot www.ebay.com and put these numbers in search:110401765962,110401769161,200352071004 Good Luck! This is the company I spoke of.
thanks, JeffB2. I have looked at those floor panels before, and have bought other panels for my 53 from the same company. Have you purchased these floor panels? and if so, how do they compare to the original? is the hump under the front seat put into the panel - it is difficult to tell from the pics on ebay. Thanks again for the info, I do appreciate it. Steve
I have been a member of 1954ford.com for a while and several members there have used them and liked them,I was lucky my '54 is an AZ car only rust I had was in the rear quarter panels and that was minimal.
JeffB2 - I ordered the front and rear floor panels from the outfit you mentioned. I have dealt with them before, and their replacement panels are very good. Will take some photos when I put the floor together and post them on the HAMB. Thanks again for the info. Steve
Steve,be sure and let us here know when you put up the pics, before, during and after pics should be a big help!
Steve, did you get the floor pans replaced on your 53? I have one and the front pans need replacing. wondering if you ran into any problems doing it?
