    Just got a new scanner that will do 35mm slides, so While I was visiting
    family last week I picked up the old slide collection and picked
    out some interesting ones, mostly ones my dad took in the 50's
    before he was married.

    Stew, Thanks for sharing those photos! They are real good quality, felt like you could walk right into them. I think slide scanners are going to be on a lot of Christmas lists! Hope this thread takes off with more photos of this type. I'll be posting some in a while.

  13. Thank you for posting those pictures.It is fortunate that someone in the family had the good sense to document some of the events.I wish that my family had done that when I was growing up.About the only pictures I remember are snowdrifts and this damn spruce tree in front of the house.

    Those old slide photos have an almost 3D quality to them, and some really good, clear shots too, not all wrinkled and yellowed like old photos tend to be. I dig the old schoolbus in the background, too.

    Those old 35mm cameras were all manual settings as well. I've got the camera that took some of those pics, manual exposure manual focus manual f-stop. If you get it right, it looks great. If you're off, its a fuzzy overexposed mess.

    I have no idea whats going on here;

  30. Wonderful pictures and it's even cooler that you have one of your Dad's cars.

    I especially like that viscious Waterloo Biker gang!! Great shots of some old bikes like they really were back then. I'm planning out a bike project for myself and I'll save those pics to help me with design.

    Thanks a lot and if you find more share them please.
