If any of you haven't seen this, you ought to watch it. It is worth seeing even if you don't like it (does that make sense?). Also it is no longer available on VHS or DVD so record it if you don't have a copy.

It's been awhile since I've watched the movie, but I think ithe movie says it's a green 32 Ford. However it looks like a 30-31 Model A with a 32 grill shell, if I remember correctly.

    damn quick!

    I think you are right that it is a 30'31 A but I think it's a '33 Chevy grill

and the more I look at it the big Chevy motor in it appears to have a Man-A-Fre setup with stacks on it..

First line of the movie (I think I am at least close)

"That Cuda last night was a Hemi with a Torqueflight."

I can't think of any other movie like that.

Watchin' it now. Haven't seen it since '74 at basic trainin' in the Air Force's movie theatre at San Antonio. No wonder I only watched it once and never again. It's ****in' BORING!! Jesus, all James Taylor does is mope throughout the whole movie. Some things are funny...when Warren Oates makes an *** outta himself(often) but all Brian Wilson wants to do is check the jets on the carbs. Boring. The cars are cool. James Taylor keeps ****in' up his lines though. And the ending is stupid. The film just burns away. I walked outta the theatre thinkin'...man I just wasted 2 hours. But it was free. All you culties...feel free to rip away.:p

I'll agree witcha - the ending was WTF? the first time I saw it, but upon reflection, it made sense. Boring? If I reflect back on most of the times I went out to hook one over the past threee decades - 80% of the time was spent doin pretty much what JT and BW did - a few seconds of hairy action followed by a whole lotta nuthin'.

I'm watchin' it right now - the Chebby makes real nice short gear noises...cool.

the people are not the main characters,
they are only there as supporting actors,
the real star is the car.

    it's performance is totally convincing
it's like it's speaking directly to me
