Channel 332 Boy its good to see it again...truely an acquired taste. Brilliance in its simplest form.
Two Lane Blacktop also comes on later this evening or early Sunday morning pending how you look at it. Make sure to check your local listings for exact times. Waste' yelo
3 Large is three K mutha ****a."By God" I think Sam is watchin' this movie even as we jibe either that or he has seen it waaaaayyyy.... tooooo.many times.LOL T.OUT
What town in Ok is this suposed to be. I've tried to read the signs when JT heads off looking for the chick at least a dozen times and still can't get it? Now that's a trivia question! T.OUT
Maybe it was the scriptwriter's kid in the show before the movie came on, then. Something about trans***uals, I elected not to sit through it...
I had to go look again in the movie and then on the map.If they are on hwy 70 heading east you are so right cause the Hwy junction sign is 109 and if they are on Hwy 70 (which in the 70's was a major highway) (and even today to a degree) then that is Boswell for sure. As regards the drive in scene I beg to differ and perhaps you should fire up TLB and go see,the "32 Ford" is in fact a Chevy ,it might be a 33 not a 32, but for damn sure a Chevy not a Ford. Just bye the bye what does "Waste' yelo" mean? T.OUT
I sw it when it was a new movie and James Taylor had hair... And again tonite......Weird but cool both times, seein Dennis Wilson was cool-as when I saw it first I never knew he was in it. WHAT A TRIP!
I did thank you, I stand by my earlier statement the green car is a '30-'31 Model A with a '33 Chevy grill
i like when JT. is pumpin gas into the 5 & the pump jockey asks if its a 396 block & JT. says foooour fifty four (& he says it so proud) i also like when the goat owner DO. is riding in the 5 & Wilson is driving the goat & DO. is yelling at his goat as its fading behind. must be a rock crusher in the 5 because when they have the camera in the car you can hear those straight cut teeth whinnnnning. WHO FILMS A LAME OL DOG *** CHICK WALKING AROUND THE DRAG PITS WHEN THERE ARE SOOOOO MANY COOL CARS TO LOOK AT!?!?!? we have to watch that 2 legged dog walking around & try to see whats in the background?!
I am not watchin it but I have it on dvd it's a monthly deal ,remember i aint got a wife to entertain me, so it's the next best thing. And yes it is boring as hell but love the cars...............
oh and another thing. when you go in & eat somewhere you always park where you can keep an eye on your wheels out the window. if some ***** crawled in my backseat like her id turn that baby loose through every gear until she started beating me on the head with her purse beggin me to stop & let her out. HAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA! OR she would be curled up in the fetal position ****in her thumb in shock from that brute BIG BLOCK POWER!!!
Y'all beat me to it because I was gonna compare it to Easy Rider, one of the best cult movies of all time. Maybe you had to live through the late '60s-early '70s to appreciate these two flicks...
the car is great! i like the movie just for the cars, ive seen it a dozen times. Fast forward, rewind, Fast forward, rewind, Fast forward, rewind.
bought a `copy` on egay a few weeks ago......the `copy` is excellent and he`s still got some and cheap too http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HOT-ROD-DVD-T...ryZ60876QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem monkey
If anyone really wants a copy of the "two lane" movie, instant message me. I have an original in mint condition VHS tape what I like about the movie was you got to hear the ACTUAL sound of the cars and SEE them doing the burnouts, etc. I've seen some real lame *** flicks about hot rodding where the motor sound was "dubbed in"- and they really ****ed other movies that compare favorably: "Bullitt" with Steve McQueen- the Mustang/Mopar chase scene is top notch "Dirty Mary/Crazy Larry"- they rob a store and run from the cops in a Charger, some really cool road chase scenes on highways- I have that one on DVD also if anyone is interested- Peter Fonda drives "Moonshine Highway"- older hot rods souped up to carry 'shine- the star of the movie runs a Lincoln if memory serves. someone mentioned "changing the jets"- (laughter...)- that was one real blooper in the "two lane" movie- that guy changed jets in a street car like I change my socks. Did anyone get the conversation in the pits at the drag strip, from the hippie running the Hemi car, in "two lane" ??
That hippie working on the the Mopar at the drags while talkin' 'bout the plugs is somebody well known but I can't remember who. Can't remember if I heard that from the director's commentary on the DVD or read it somewhere. Don't forget that the big guy in the Fred Flintstone Glendale Speed Center shirt asking about the headers and mentioning his Thames panel truck is Richard Ruth himself. The man that built the three '55's for the movie. By the way, that is one T-shirt that needs to be reproduced. I'd be first in line for mine!
Can anyone confirm or deny the rumor that the "Two Lane Blacktop" '55 is the same one used in "American Grafitti" that Harrison Ford, aka Bob Falfa, drove, and rolled, racing Milner's '32 out on Paradise Road? I've heard that a bunch of times, but never got any confirmation....
