If you could make it look like an early kustom, tail dragger of course. Something like Barris would have done. Probably needs a 4 inch chop in the front and a 6 inch chop in the rear. If you can add fender skirts in the rear that would be great. One more thing I was thinking about was making it a 3 window and getting rid of the rear side windows? Here are the pics. Thanks in advance.
My version, no need for a chop, move the rear roof section forward, not all the way to the door pillar like a three window coupe, leave some space for a rear quarter window, but no post, as a hardtop. It would require making gl*** for both doors, and welding the door surrounds to the roof to make a hardtop. Then you'd need a coupe trunklid and the surrounding sheetmetal to fill in the big gap at the back, and you'd have a hardtop. I've seen a couple of these two door sedans chopped, and I don't like it, the windows are too long and straight, looks squashed. Plus, they have a nice gl*** to sheetmetal ratio right from stock. If you're going to leave it a two door sedan I wouldn't chop it, but I would consider trying to eliminate the hump above the back window for a more fastback profile. Here's a pic of my hardtop idea. I have a '46 two door sedan and this makes me want to make mine a two door hardtop. I'm a hack with photoshop yet so I'll leave it up to someone else to put fenderskirts on the back and lower it.
Here's a slight variation on Loogy's ideas. Would be something I haven't seen before. Maybe I need to do this to my '46
Holly cow it's amazing how you can get inspired by photochoping. Thefrenz loogy squablow kreapin Thanks guys, I work two jobs and don't get much computer time during the week.
