Everyone, you make me want to take a week off and just finish some old projects or start some more new ones.LOL Nice work everyone. Really dig the plastic stuff!
I got a little done on my T speedster - no filler in the bodywork yet, but I shot some satin blue lacquer on it to see how much filler I need to use: That Edmunds Supermodified is sweet - I have one I started with the kit nose/hood in front of a narrowed T-bucket body/p-u bed that slides right down over the cage and around the gas tank. Maybe I'll get it out and take a pic. EDIT: First, I'll explain that the hole in the center of the turtledeck/rollpan is for access to the quickchange rear I'm putting in that model. Next, I'll post the promised pics of my incomplete track modified:
Zed, I recognize those hub caps coming from the Goulart/Ford kit. Did those Cad bumpers come with the kit too? I can't remember that far back. I used the glue on Goulart front end option and the already chopped hardtop with glass pieces.
Wow, great stuff to see this Sunday! Man, what a great crop of 49-51 Chevys! Ferbz51, cool scallops on yours. What did you use to mask off the scallops on the red & gold Chrysler? I want to do a similar paint thing to a 62 Chevy. Zed, that Merc is happening! Ya' ever thought of some flush skirts for it? Nothing new for me, just trying to stay focused on 2 or 3 projects I've got going on. Steve Steve Boutte Kustoms
steveb, The masking was a combo of 1/16" automotive masking tape and metal foil. I used tape for the majority of it and used foil for the tight spots where I couldn't get the tape to turn. Hey, I just realized who you are! I've noticed your work in the magazines the past couple years....I love your stuff! Nice to connect with you....
wow, theres alot of cool shit here today. im diggin every model posted. i gotta get some of my stuff up.
best model Sunday in a long time. Ferbz, nice stuff Zed the merc looks great as is, I would leave it at that Gowjobs the T body on the Edmunds is wild. I like the way you think. I am going to have to lift my game I think, feeling a little uneasy with such talent around! Everybodies stuff is greats. Geoff aka whodaky
Mike, the Fiesta hubcaps on my Merc come from the aftermarket and the dagmars as well as the back bumpers from an old Amt parts pack ! I have the Goulard front end from a 50 Ford 'vert "customising series"...i ve never have the chance to see the kit you're talking about ! ...only see the real thing...in pics! Steve...that's exactly want i wanna do with the skirts ! I saw that on the coooooool box on your site !...incredible site! Men you're doing such a flawless work..i dig your skills so much ! plans for the Merc are flush skirts, '56 buick-esque side trim, and a caracter line in the centre of the car from back to front...an lots of sanding and adjusting side windows and front end.. Thanks for the great feed back ! Can't wait 'til next sunday !
Well I still don't have anything new to share but I like that Vette that popped up! Lookin' good! Here's mine...not much left of the original kit. Body, hood, headlights, and about half of the frame. Block, heads, rocker covers and oil pan from AMT '62 Chevy. Scratchbuilt headers, intake, stacks, mag, front mount engine plate, all wired and plumbed. Hell most of it is scratchbuilt with bits and pieces from the parts box used where they could be. More pics here... http://public.fotki.com/Gluhead/gas_hopper/ Good stuff this week! Hey Steve! Olson
This is something I did this week in a couple evenings. 1/87th scale 55 Chevy. The pic with the penny will give you an idea of the scale. I call it, "all the money is under the hood". Found some small wire to do fenderwell headers for it but haven't got around to it yet.
Here's the 1/64, Jesse James '54 Chevy that I've been working on. I raised it up a bit, changed the wheels, and painted it. It is not finished yet either. It's going to get a two tone paint job eventually. pigpen
Oh the atomic frog has reappeared :O) remember this junker? Nice bunch of models this week !!!!!!! keith ross
Well, it seems this is a continuation this week, not a new thread, but I'll go with it. Still messing with the headlight placement on the 41 Plymouth, & I took a few pics to check it out. Almost there, but I still need to design the front bumper to complete the look. Also, the Packard grille & hood fit still need some fine tuning, as well as the side trim & trunk line. Steve
Here is some progress on my longterm project. Got the roof in, the trunk narrowed, the fins blended in in the rear, and cut out what remained of the B pillars, and built in slanted pillars. To make the slanted pillars look right, I needed to lengthen the doors, so you see that as well. Still needs a lot of refinement, when the drip rails are replaced, the doors will tie into the roof better.
Nice models this week guys. I especially dig the updates you guys are making with the ones in progress....Keep on! I'm throwing another one of my previous builds into the mix. Hope you all like it. It's a 58 Impala converted into a custom chopped sedan delivery using the old Revell 54 Panel top.
For a looooong time it seams that every modelers had tried to make something kool out the amt 41 plymouth, and finally it happened ! Looks like a lot of surgery had been done to the ugly little duck to make a great kemp ! That Packard grille looks right at home as is what seams to be an entire rear section of a 40 ford ( maybe!)... Steve you got a/another winner !
This thing is AWSUM!!!! I would love to build this in 1-1 scale! Ecellent design, its not to often sedan deliverys get the full Kustom treatment! Koolkemp
This is one that I'm going to try to build. I have to get with the guy about some of the cuts he made to the two cars. GM should have built this thing if you ask me.
Do it! It would be bitchin'! And KoolKemp, I agree with you, I'd love to see either my version or 1LowLeSabre's wagon in 1:1. Let's see more customized 58 Wagons/Deliverys on the street!
