Well, I am not one-quarter the fabricator of the MercMan1951 - Stickylifter crew, but my friend and I did manage to get a 28" Gennie Ultra Shifter in my '51 Ford on Saturday. Having my buddy's lift was VERY helpful. Here's a few pics. You can see it peeks over the dash perfectly. Pinapple Gernade Shift Knob to follow!

Got the Airwaves in the spring pockets, with some modifications to fit.

Getting the mock up done on motor mounts for a 140 cid Ford motor, using the old biscuit mounts. I also ordered a plasma cutter.

After over ten years fooling with it, I finally got the MG Midget out of my way (sold it, didn't finish it) and am beginning to reclaim my garage. Flathead projects next.

    Cleaned a bunch of parts.
Brought a new clutch pack out to the farm to finish up my T5 swap.
Found out I had the wrong clutch disc. Again.
Realized that both the seller's description and the transmission ID tag are wrong.

Ran to the junkyard to see about a replacement ******. No luck there.

Spent some quality time with the Napa parts books trying to figure out just what the hell I do have.
Turns out I have an early (i.e., weak) S10 T5.

Exchanged old clutch package for new (correct) set.
Bought doughnuts for the parts guys to make up for wasting their time.

Spent the rest of the afternoon patching the bed and teaching a friend to weld.

Got the x-mas tree. The # on it at the joint was '666'. Got tied up in traffic and took twice as long to get home. Good ol #666.

Worked on getting the BMW steering box mounted in the bucket, but got sidetracked by all the snow and the fact that my garage isn't heated. So, I guess it's back to building the car component by component at work.
Got it rolling last weekend for the first time since I tore it down to start over. The wife gives me no end of **** for tearing apart a running, driving car, but I just didn't like it the way it was. Goodbye 1/4 elliptics 350/TH350, 9 inch ford, hello standard suicide axle, 8ba w/ T5, and banjo rear. I'm also getting rid of the turtledeck and building it as a RPU with a 36" bed
