Whether or not you like Jesse James, I was just in Walmart and really liked the look of those chopper bikes. If nothing else, its a good base to start from for other customizing.

that resto looks good, and as the rest of the bikes on this thread. heres my submissions.
the first two chopper bikes i built, the black one i sold to a friend
the red one is a bike that steers the opposite way. won alot of bets with that thing.
the one with red wheels im just randomly building.
the rusty flat black one i pulled out of the garbage and found out its a rare iverson bike, the ones George Barris designed many years ago.
and the last is my 80's sidecar racing bike.

This is my old Sears Roadmaster sporting its original scalloped paint. I added the 18" apehangers, new wheels with Nexus 4 speed hub/coaster brake,3 speed shifter modified to be a 4, flamed Dyno tires, Schwinn Sting-Ray speedo(which I found at a garage sale for $1.00!) New pedals, chain ring, and a brassTexas Longhorn where the front reflector should be. It has been taken to Bonneville, It still has some salt on it!!

I have a Huffy cruiser that's been modified a little... nothing special. My friend builds bikes... here's his bike, custom made frame, tank and shifter. He's taken to a couple drag races in Pomona, and he had in the back of his truck at Primer Nationals this year. He's working on a website www.boulevardbicycles.com

I was taking photos of my rod when a guy rode up on this bike, so I took a few shots of it.

Here's my swap meet cruiser. Started life as a Schwinn moutain bike type, but who wants one of those??? I plan on taking it to my school's bike rodeo. I plan on teaching them young 'uns a thing or two... like how not to curse when you hit the ground... As a kiddo, this is the time of year when I'd dream of a cool Schwinn Krate bike from the bearded man with a red suit. And you're right about learning to wrench on bikes. I learned to i.d. the size of a nut by looking by working on bikes.

quick update on the bike - the skip tooth chain i found on ebay finally came in yesterday but i had to add a few links from the original one. once that was all hooked up i finally got to take it for a test run. it rides so nice, like a caddy, quiet as a mouse, no rattles, squeaks or anything. i cleaned it up & gave it to my girl (who i fixed it up for) & she was real stoked. her & the bike look hot as hell cruising up the street. the scallops really did it too, the paint is the perfect color. thanks to everyone who showed me thier bikes & everyone who gave me props on my project. its all done, now back to the chrysler.

engine is made for bikes, it's a chinese motor. with the gearing I have now it'll run about 35mph (i'm 170lbs). It's completely street legal since you have to pedal to start and it's under 50cc's. Got waved over by a cop a few weeks ago, he just had to check it out!

You can pick those motors up on ebay now for pretty cheap, mine wasn't about 3 years ago...
