    Howdy everybody,

I know that we kicked around the idea of having some group shirts made a little while ago, so I think this is the logical first step. Let's get some design ideas rolling :D...

    Since you asked...

    Here are my suggestions:

    * A clean, simple design,

    * Any color but black,

    * No skulls, chains, spider webs or "trendy" design features,

*...and a pocket, for Geno's reading gl***es! Haha...

    My 2 cents

    * something retro looking....like an ad from the 50's

    * nothing black, filled with skulls, etc that make Goth kids come up to me and want to be my friend.

    * the older I get the more pockets seem like a necessity (damn)

    * an edgy phrase like, "tri-fives are for sheep" (ok...maybe not, but you know that would be fun)

I like the retro idea. I like the idea of shirts that way at car shows we can spot other members on the board. I would want the design we choose to be put on the back of a work shirt. Add to the retro look of it.

A work shirt with the design on back would be a great idea. And I agree with the retro idea.

Just a thought. Something simple. I know that not all of our front ends look the same but how about the image of the front grill with the bullet nose as the image?

Let's see... Simple, Traditional and Appropriate to a custom-oriented '52-'56 Ford social club?

Here's my candidate for an illustration...a rear 3/4 view of the well-known Pete Angress Ford hardtop, converted to a line drawing for improved contrast, with the frame included as below. (photo courtesy of the Rik Hoving Collection)

    Howdy everybody,
I know that we kicked around the idea of having some group shirts made a little while ago, so I think this is the logical first step. Let's get some design ideas rolling :D...]

Well.... we all know what opinions are like - belly****ons, right? :p But since we - as a group - are looking for ideas, here's a few I've been thinkin' about:

Shirt color - probably irrelevent, since if we're talking about doing a screen print, it can go on a shirt, garment, etc. of any color. Only consideration given to the print might be to make sure it has color that contrasts or is different enough to allow the design to not get lost in the garment color.

Design - Well I'm a real retro type and kinda like those mid 50s pastels and the flashy "gingerbread" chrome from the era. I'm not one to say I don't like customs, but I prefer a car that is easily identifiable without having to scratch my head, wondering what it used to was? Just MHO.

That said: FRONT might show a collage of sketch-type renderings of all '52-'56 Fords, what I'd call a "quarter-front" view, in stock configuration.

BACK: Top-just below the yoke: maybe some 50s' style script of group name? And just under it & not so big as to distract, the HAMB logo? (might need permission from the front office for that..). Then some mild-to-wild renderings of customs from any or all the years', again at quarter-on angles.

POCKETs? Yeah, one or two breast pockets for the cigs, snuff, meds...., and maybe one on a sleeve for a pen&pad (for those who forgot their memory meds!) But certainly nothing like those - IMHO - God-awful thigh-length shirt/housecoats with Captain Kangaroo hang-y down pockets (very popular with the shuffle board set :p :p :p ). I might BE old and would look pretty bad in a muscle shirt, but I don't want to dress old just yet... (desert or digi-camo covers a lot!)
Hey I'm just messin', don't want to offend but I never said my belly****on was purty. Just having fun! Work is boring today . . .
I'll see if I can find some samples of the type of renderings I'm thinking, and will post 'em if I do. Let the flames begin!

Sign me up for one. Not sure I can be much help with the design part but a pocket and a dark color would be nice so I can wear it in the shop.

I was absolutely thinking of a retro design- none of the trendy business- like someone said above. I like a cl***ic font style from the 50's or early 60's and a clean, fairly uncluttered design. I need to ask Ryan if we can use the HAMB logo- we aren't trying to make any $ here, just cover the costs of production, right, so I can't imagine he would have a problem with that. I'll post some ideas for a design when I get some time and we can all pick what we like/don't like and come up with something workable.

Just an FYI- pockets, front and back designs, and multiple colors drive the cost up pretty quick. I have a shirt guy that I use for the company that I work for- he does great work on quality product and I could start getting estimates on some of the extras so we know what to avoid.

Glad to see that there's so much interest already!!!

I'm in. I think the shirt idea is great. Are we talking T-shirts or the ****on up type. I think a cl***y looking, old school ****on up would be awesome. But whatever the group decides is fine with me.

I wonder if Jimmy Vaughan knows his car is on a "100% pure evil" t-shirt? I wonder if his lawyer does? Gotta watch that stuff...

Yeah, I'm not a pocket guy either, really. Plus, pockets= more $. There may be a way for those who want them to get them without everyone havin to get them. We'll try to make everyone happy.

I'm in fur sure!! But no pocket for me!! I'd be down for just a plain t shirt too though... Mainly so I can order a bunch. At least one per day and two on Sundays.

dittos Ron...I guess it's easier for me to list the "deal breakers" than it is to list what I'd like to see.

My deal breakers would be a pink color or some kind of evil goth looking thing.

I still think it'd be cool to have a phrase that pisses off the shoebox guys.

I have an email in to Ryan to see if it's ok to use the "HAMB" logo in the design. I let him know that it isn't a profit deal; that we're just trying to cover expenses. I will keep you posted...

Ok folks, just got the "go-ahead" from Ryan to use the logo. We just need to make sure that we send him the final design for approval before we send it off to the printers.

What style of shirt are we all going for ? Another thing , has anyone checked to see who can print these ? A lot of place make you order a certain amount before they will make a run and that isn't cheap at all . Maybe someone on the HAMB is doing shirts . Just a thought .

Like I said a little earlier, I'll be checking with my t shirt connection here to see what kind of prices he can offer and for what amount. I use him fairly often and I know he will give a good price. There is a t shirt vendor on the HAMB who has done a lot of shirts for different groups. I'm told they do great work, and have reasonable prices. I'll post when I find out what my quote is.

I'm not a real lightweight and tall; Any possible chance of including 2xt in the sizing ?
I'd also be more inclinded for the work/bowling shirt versus t-shirt.
