I installed a Painless kit in my '55 and I could not be happier. Just curious what "bad accounts" and "shortcomings" you have heard?
The last bad account I heard came from my dad who ran short on wiring length in a couple of critical places. When he called Painless to complain that the kit did not fit the car that they said it would, he said they were not helpful. He wasn't pleased about having to splice in his own wire to obtain the length that he needed, on such an expensive kit. One other complaint that I heard was related to customer service, or the lack of it.
Glenn33 here on the board. Rebelwire, made in USA by a real man and his hands. I called last week to leave a message at 11pm and Glenn answered and was glad to answer questions even though I told him I knew it was late and I could call back. My kit is super easy to install, color coded, quality and it was like $150 shipped (including hamb discount) I believe in buying quality parts for my car, no matter what the cost- and I did. I don't see another choice.
Well damn..wish I had looked here first.I have rewired several cars now and have used several different kits.So far my review is this Painless is deceptive by name and over priced.EZwire is great and fairly straight forward acceptable price.Speedway overall best value and very much like EZwire overall if not the same entirely. 139.00 + 7.00 shipping.
I use EZ Wiring kits in all my cars and the ones I build for others. Very satisfied with there kits and the tech service is great. Took a look at a Rebel wiring kit from a vender at turlock swap meet, the fuse block seems to be made up from 3-4 seperate fuse holders (like the ones you get at radio shack) the blinker and emergency flasher just hang there like cherries on a tree. At 195. for there kit???? No thanks. EZ-Wiring for me!!!!!
