i have found a 1948 n.c. plate with 2 digits. what was this a congressman, judge,? what do you guys know about such?
I don't know anything except that if you want to sell it I want to buy it for my '47........................If you want to sell it, let me know.......... Thanks, Tim
IF it's the same as VA, which wouldn't suprise me, Circuit Court judges had those plates. In VA they still can, but I think more of them try to keep a low profile these days.
what are the two digits might be cool for some body to have a plate with the cars birth year and drivers
The two digit numbered plates were the elected officials in N.C. government. The Governor was #1, Secretary of State was #4.
Your "67" plate is probably worth around $25.00 or so (depending on condition) to a collector. Not sure how N.C. does it, but under the vintage license plate law in NYS, ya can't use a plate to register a car if the number is already in use. I gotta believe #67 is being used by some fat-cat politico.
I just noticed that you said the number was 67. I have asked about that number and once you were that high the plates were not elected officials. My father could have had #55 ( he never did) and he was not in an elected position.
