I've got 2 front caps, 5 hoods, 2 trunk lids and a 49 4 dr. Most need work. It would be easy to cut out the bad and weld in the new, if I knew where to get replacements. I don't want to cut up anything to make 1 out of 2. Mostly I need fender panels . Thank for the info.
So........what's a front cap? I think you meant front clip, but I just had to be that guy.... If anybody knows the best place to get good replacement rockers and doglegs (the section behind the doors) for a two door '50 also, this would be appreciated too....
yeah that's what I had in mind. It was late and the pain pill had kicked in when I made the post last night.
EMS and a coupla others. There is even one place that makes complete lower quarters....at $1,500 a pair I don't think that he;s selling too many of them though.
Outfit called Green Mountain that makes some good panels. In the N E. Trunk, rockers, floors and lower fender pieces.........OLDBEET

I found this site that listed Mercury body parts. http://www.autobodyspecialt.com/cat-sp-05/sp05-170.gif I've worked with Joel at Mercuryland to buy all of the pieces needed for a top chop and he might have original parts for you and he sells fiberglass. Joel is very good to work with. http://www.mercuryland.com/ I need a passenger door for a 49-50-51 coupe. Thanks Ol Blue
I know these fenders that he's talkin' about, personally... The rust is in the typical spot for fords and mercs of that era, at the bottom of the fenders right behind the wheelwell, and one of them is rusty pretty much all the way to the edge...otherwise, they are in great shape for their age. This is gonna be one sweet merc when it's finished.
