Hey gang, This set is on Ebay right now if anyone has been looking for the spindles. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/54-5...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4cec5c8d45
and here is the full conversion http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/54-5...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4cec5c9311
Was wondering if this setup would work on 52 - 54 or just 55 - 57 Fords? Most likley not as they are king pins. I'd like to put disc on the front of my 53 Myself, I'd get the spindle from a junk car and get the rotors and calipers from a local auto parts store, that would bring the cost down some!
True it would bring the cost down but finding one in a junk yard is hard now days. I looked in several yards and watched pull a part and never had any luck. I finally broke down and bought a kit.
Thanks I see that now and the Tubular A-Arms seem to be the way to go but the cost I do have access to a Bridgeport and a lathe across the street, this guy even has a cnc in his small shop. All I need now is some knowledge and alot of ambition. I do have the rear disc now and that's still better then no rear brakes at all.
Yeah it hurts when you gotta buy it but I had to do it. I don't have access to everything to fab what I need.
Hey, I've already got the parts for a granada swap (was going to do it on my 61 Falcon.) To put this on a 55, is having to machine the bottom to fit a bigger ball joint the only difference? What's the best way to communicate this to a machinist? (Bring the parts and say, make this fit that?)
Keith, I know it is posted some place but I believe it is a #7 ream that has to be used to get the lower ball joint to fit. Other then that it is a straight bolt on swap. Just got done doing this on my 55.
