Hello Fellas, Been a while scence i've been on the HAMB....and now you guys have a COE group......bad ***. not sure how to post pics.....as soon as I figure it out I'll post some of my 40 GMC. It's been chopped 9.5 in the front and 7.5 in the rear. I have laid the lead on all the welded seams but the body work is far from done...I don't have a ch***is as I was planning on building my own from scratch. I wanted the ch***is to look as if was built in an aircraft factory and the history on the truck is that it was from North American Aviation plant in Inglewood Ca. So this truck was in the plant that built the B-25 and the P-51 talk about a truly bad *** truck. But now I'm leaning on a diesel ch***is.. thats the cool part about this project is that it can go any direction and it will be something pretty cool.....I'm going to try and get some pics up... Aaron
look n forward to see n it. lots of reasonable priced metric diesel cab n ch***is around now. depending on your wanted end result, if thats the way your headed. luck to ya.. gw
I'm actually looking at a semi ch***is two axle with an eaton auto trans. I drive trucks for a living so the marriage of the two was only natural. set the cab up high enough to clear the 24.5 wheels I think this would be one bad *** truck that would be small enough to get into most parking lots but big enough to pull or tow what ever I wanted.
morn n, understand more of your vision now. she will be as you said (set up high) as a 12 to 14 liter inline is pretty close to the same length of the cab itself without trans. radiator and air to air. not sure as to your age as far as seeing or being around these, but perhaps look into the 70s-80s crown bus ch***is with the horizontal mounted engines (***mins and jimmys dont remember any cats) married to automatics. but i guess then youd be up against split n the cab to wide n for the wheel base width. justs thoughts. luck to ya. gw
