i have been working on JD's (Blacktops****er) car for awhile now. it was time to finish up all the loose ends on his car. i did his floating grill and it didn't look finished with a square off hood. i rounded the hood corner, molded the fenders to the rockers and rust repair on the roof.... if you want to see pics of the floating grill check out my website. i guess at one time someone did a quick down and dirty patch job, to make a quick sale i guess. i had no idea how bad it was until i started grinding the paint off. the best thing for me was to make some patch panels and do it right. you can see that they are now welded to the rockers.
Nice work, I really like that grill treatment. Lookin forward to see what you've done to the rear section.
well i got to work on putting back the rock guard on the 1/4 panel. also i got to work on the back end. somebody else worked on the back end and for some reason the tailight section keeps cracking. it has hair line cracks all over it. well i started chiseling off the bondo and saw that it was up to a 7/16" thick. then i looked into it more and i started to peel the paint right off with a razor blade and air pressure. apprently the body wasn't preped before it was painted. it just literally peel right off. there is still more to peel off, it just got late and i was tired....more later
that question is best suited for blacktops****er, this car belongs to him. i do know that he had it molded to the bumper.
