Nah...That Merkt guy hangs around here once in awhile...he's got some old Bondo'd up roaster that he pushes around the parking lot once in awhile ...even claimed he was in some kinda video with it a long time ago called Mashed Fabrication or somethin' like that..I think it's just an Urban Legend....

Yeah I know but I have a car I am willing to transport to get it done right. Any other suggestions other than Merkt?

...with not alot in it. most the body places i know are the "insurance repair" kind, that just do accident repairs. Couple of my friends to paint work but its mostly garage quality. I know there ARE a couple real good places in WI but ive never really had experience with any of them.

    Where in WI are you?

How much you looking to spend? I can think of a few places that will cost upwards of $20K for paint and bodywork on an already reasonable car, or I could name some guys that'll do a pretty good garage job for under $1000.

Well of course want the best job for the money. I have a 1955 convert that I replaced all the rusty panels on already and is completely rust free and pretty straight I just need somone to finish it off. I had it dipped and it is in bare metal right now. I can do a garage job my self but want somthing nice and these cars are worth it I think.

I am in the milwaukee area but am willing to trailer it to the right place just wanted to get some good references because there are a lot of hacks out there. I do deal with some of the local accident repair places but haven't been all that impressed with the ones I have delt with.

If your in the Milwaukee area anyway, I'd also recomend Merkt Auto body. I met the guys there at a show or something, and they seemed to know what they were doing. When you get there, ask for Bob...:D
