OT question for the skaters?

i dont mean to get involved in shit but i hate when bands get a bad wrap cause someone thinks they know everything. first of all if your into oi skrewdriver are a great band. white kids love racist anti white man rap...i dont see them hating white people.

anyways. screwdriver originated as your typical oi band. proud about themselves heritage home and family. as far as i know a couple of the first albums were nothing but that. then they got a little goofy and went racist which is there choice i think its dumb but whatever. my point is. the band is really good. and a lot of what they say is also a good solid message. just not the racism.

anyways i ended up ranting here. my main point is KNOW YOUR SHIT BEFORE YOU PREACH IT.

Alright, look - Skrewdriver does not want my friend dead because the main part of Skrewdriver, which was Ian Stuart, is dead. And I'm not saying ignore the message, I'm saying laugh at the message because it's dumb and we all know it's dumb. That does not change the fact that Boots and Braces is a great fucking record and not racist at all, that came later.

The reason I was poking fun at you is that this post was about skating and music and fun and no one asked anyone for your stupid assed political 2 cents! And yet you, just like every other little PC twit I've ever met, was sitting there just waiting and wanting to be offended so you could shout out your opinion and show everyone how much you hate fascists!! Just do us all a favor and keep the political gunk to yourself. No one wants to hear it.

I have to agree with stiff on all acounts! The first skrewdriver record (all skrewed up) is one of the best punk records of all time and it doesn't contain any racist lyrics or suggestions, if it did I wouldn't own it, in fact I bought it at my friend Barry's record store (Red Devil Records, in san rafael, Ca.), it's the only Skrewdriver record he'll sell (he's jewish) and he agree's the record will stomp yer balls in!!!

 

Oh yeah, Stiff? are there a lot of hot mexican girls in WI.??? I'm in Ca. so I understand, but last time I was in WI hot south of the border girls were not exactally what I remembered??? of course I don't remember much from that trip...

 

No, unfortunately there aren't a lot of hot mexican girls here, which is why the ones we do have stand out so much. Wish we had more, I guess they don't like the cold...

And thanks for correcting me, I meant to write All Skrewed Up, not Boots and Braces in that previous post...Boots and Braces is pretty racist but still a good oi record.

 

Hey guys, i dont know if The Exploited are considered racist, i cant remember much of the songs lyrics or messages, but remember listening to them and it was good skate music.

Also, how about Henry Rollins with Rollins Band? The dude rocks and mostly has good messages. He doesnt even swear in his songs to get his message across, he doesnt need to.

I think out of all the heavy bands I listened to, he is the most "realistic" down to earth guy out there.

try rollins "live in chicago" double CD, its worth the money, just my opinion.
