What did the guys use to shift thier B&M Hydro-Stick? Did they adapt column selectors? Use any old stick coming out of the floor? Or did your Hydro come with a special shifter from B&M? Was there any reverse lockout back then? Did Hurst ever make anything?
B&M made a floor shift for them, as did Hurst; my 1967 Honest Charley catalog shows the Hurst unit. I'm not certain, but I believe Ansen made one as well.
I made mine out of flat stock. a piece of 1/2 '' rod with a pivot point welded on, and a br*** door knob. that was in 61. worked good. didn't know about safety sw's.
I got a Gennie shifter for my Hydro. It might not be in the catalog, but he'll make one for you. It sits centered over the ****** unlike the B&M style. The only thing you have to do is fab your own bracket on the shift lever coming out the side of the ****** case.
