New to antique cars, keeping this one pretty stock. I just like old stuff and want to ride around in this thing some, even though it looks so bad. Cars are my weakness, I like something about nearly everything I see. My first car was an AMC Gremlin, and I flared the fenders and modified the grill to accept Monza headlight buckets. Built a Baja bug from a '65 VW, but cut out the original fenders, rolled the edges, and made the new nose from a spare door's sheet metal (using a 50A buzz box). Flipped the ring gear in my transaxle before putting bus axles (with outboard gear cases) in the Bug. Did a good bit of bodywork and brake work on a '69 Vette and painted it. Rebuilt an '81 diesel Rabbit truck and did bodywork on it before driving it to work for a while. The Vette and the Rabbit were both totaled by other drivers running red lights. I have a MIG welder now, so I hope I can do better work than before, but I can't claim to be really good at anything....
