Mill or Drill press?
@jimvette59 , just should have waited one year, post would have been celebrating its 20th. ;) :)
As a “truck” I think they quit making them because damage was difficult to fix. ‘58/9 they went to the Fleetsides with metal. A friend had one...
I’ll be darn, my ‘32 PU and a Plymouth (32) were straight frames, poor assumption on my part.
Yeah, I don’t think Dodge/etc, used an x in the frames.
Well, I have to say to @Kerrynzl , we now know who has the brains in the family !!! Messing with ya!
Now if we could get the title corrected;)
Unscrew the fitting from the valve, fill the tank, open the fitting. Air? Then fitting (quick connects can fail) or the hose, or end with quick...
Now that solves that! Thanks!
@rusty valley , the reply about splines was in regards to the steering gear being splined. I’ve a wheel in mind to use
This is using cross steer in a ‘32 Dodge PU with a ‘46-48 drop tubes front axle. The Dodge had side steer.
To answer a few questions… I picked up a ‘40 box. Which was cut down. For length change, ie not as the ‘40 is/was, plan would be a machine shop...
Tis my question for the day;) Can a solid round bar be used, or not? Thanks.
Rear fender front’55-60’s sometime I think are the same. If you can figure out a relay. I’ve a set that would be good to cut the top portion...
I’ve never gone from 12 to 6, but when going 6 to 12, I just changed the coil, used a ballast resistor and used the same condenser that was used...
Looks like what I recall being posted at one time. Thanks
That would have eliminated my post.
So you spoke of finding something suspicious, yet can’t say what or why you feel it’s suspicious? I’m good.
@Marty Strode might share again, what he used inside the pipes to weld them. Something like an inside slip/tight fit, in the tubes, with a ridge?...
Suspicious in what respect? Suspicious assumes, we’ll never mind, but explain what you mean please.
I’d think a rotted out AD truck could be sourced for the frame? Obliviously get eyes on the frame, but sheet metal is the first to go. Maybe...
And it’s that simple. And a Shlitz can! :)
I think @squirrel did the same thing in his 9 second car as well. Unsure of where the hoses went, but do recall a can as the overflow tank.
Well, you seem to be focused on converting the starter to 6volts. So start emailing, calling, etc, auto electric shops and see what they can do.
I changed both hoses and the thermostat. Just realized I never replied for resolution.
I tried several key words and my screen name. Still took awhile;)
I asked the same question years back: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/sbc-stuck-thermostat-or.1068486/#post-12126800
Best part was the Knights finding 12 more things wrong with the squad car! Good find, Alan!
Child labor at its best!!
How about a 6 volt starter, spend $$$ on a special flywheel / flex plate. or just covert to 12volts;)
Separate names with a comma.
