i learned when building a hot rod that it ok to use later year parts.but not to go backwords and use older parts than the year of the car your...
if that is the fuel line it looks to be in a bad spot....maybe run hard line to the carb or carbs.. much safer than rubber.
i think you can use the posie spring .just put a spacer above the spring ?

drill out the rivets and move em up ,re rivet em or weld them where you want the channel to meet the frame....
gotta be dry mustard .not the squeeze stuff o_O
