I changed out the bulb sockets on my 35 and they were wired to run on high beam all the time.... the lenses were yellowed and if I had cleaned...
^ Little suttle things add up .... even 7/8th of an inch. You'd have to have a stocker side by side to see it, But I still like doing little...
Be sure to check your hood latch clearances for your hands ..... I remember a friend having problems on a 35 after dropping the lights. Oop's...

I was in the same boat at about your age ( around 1969 ).... only the car was a 32 Ford 3 window that had been chopped. An old build at the time...
35 / 36's are cool. I dig them because they were the last of the butterfly hoods.... so access is good to the engine and you can run hoodless...

That looks kinda deep, a stitch might be in order ..... it will heal faster. The white stuff might be bone ? Betedine would be good to...
