I've designed, machined parts, repaired, rebuilt, troubleshot, and built many pieces of equipment used in pharmaceutical companies all over the...
Thanks hnstray. I didn't know how the fluid coupler worked, so I appreciate that info. I will also look into the parking brake. If I read your...
No joke, and I apoligize for my ignorance. I just have zero experience with old cars, and not much with newer ones. I'm a process engineer, and...
I think mine has the fluid drive. There is a little threaded rod sticking out the left side of the steering column that I assume a shifter lever...
I think with this type of transmission you shift with the pedal or something. There is no standard shifter lever that I'm aware of. I think it's...
I'm getting my Desoto Carryall ready to sell and I'm not able to push the car. I jacked up the front wheels and they both turn freely. I jacked up...
Well I got the plugs out with no problem. Soaked them with some Marvel mystery oil and put some force on the ratchet. The threads all still look...
Thanks for the advice on the plugs. I didn't know they could be an issue. I will soak them down.
[IMG] [IMG] I'm not sure what I'm looking at but I see some rough spots. Can they be welded and machined or otherwise repaired, or are they wall...
Thanks for the comments. I was pretty excited to get them. What do I need to look for to determine if the heads are good? Thanks
I just got back from a trip to St. Louis last night. My family is out of town for Thanksgiving and I was sitting around the house today looking on...
I love this build. Very cool to see you bringing this old ford back from the dead.
Very nice work. I love them lines.
Great ride. It's awesome to see something different. That mirror set-up is crazy.
This is my only piece of speed equipment. Haha. It's an Edmunds dual carb intake for my 1951 Desoto motor. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
I've been on the road the last 4 weeks so I haven't got alot done on the cars, but today I was able to get a full day in. Should be able to update...
Could you explain the port/gasket match? Is this where you removed material on the intake that the gasket doesn't cover?
I've hauled a few. Just haven't hauled any without an axle. Makes sense to put it on backwards and use the wheel straps on the rear wheels instead...
That's what I was thinking. I just need to find something now. I'm also looking for someone to pick the car up and move it here.
Nice lines and nice paint on the dash. I want to try that as well.
Welcome. I'm new here as well. This place sure is addicting.
A fellow HAMB member is helping out with an awesome deal on a 46 ford. I've been putting parts together for my 41 ford build, and this should get...
I'm in alabama. Where are you located? Thanks
Thanks. I will keep looking I guess.
Hi guys still gathering parts for the old ford. I was wondering if a 1940 ford 4 door firewall will fit in my 1948 ford coupe? Thanks
Love the way it looks from the front. Good luck on the job. I've been there and it is stress full, but always seems to work out better in the end.
Wow great find
I've made some progress on the cars and I thought I would start a project thread with both cars in it. I can't get as much done as some folks on...
Rich B are you saying these are the correct I beam and wishbones for the 41 ford? Is that a sway bar sitting in the background? Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to respond to my thread. I'm coming at this from the perspective of someone who wants to learn from the experienced...
