Intake and cloyes timing cover in place, neat timing cover has the cam button built in and is adjustable from the outside, not allot to report on...

It should work assuming the hose you are using is made for barb fittings. Def at least use a hose clamp, It will work but push to lock or similar...
Hard to tell without being there and seeing it but maybe a wire on the switch landed in wrong place, im not positive but don't think you should...

If it is blowing a fuse instantly you have a direct short somewhere, which fuse is blowing? Can you use an ohmmeter? My guess is you have one wire...
