I'll just add that heating/welding the on the stud can also anneal it making it softer. This condition is not helpful when trying to remove it.

@saltflats is correct. I found them in an old Gratiot catalog, They are 12.5:1 Compression ratio. Dome height and compression distance changes...

Finding L2278 is obsolete and not in my TRW engine parts catalog from 1984. I think that may be the old 12.5:1 slug.

You can soak them with blaster or liquid wrench. Then try double nutting them. They will be stubborn and probably need a torch to heat up the flange.
Finally back working on my Model A. Seems my house wants to keep me from enjoying the hobby. Soooo.... A trunk mounted battery is on the menu....
