The Jalopy Journal
I can't wait for the thread about the original 10,000 members. Then I can chime in like a badass. I'm #7338.
Electrical glitches. Lights that don't work. Transmission issues like a pump o-ring or front seal leak. Also, I wanna say that one is gonna...
I've got no photos to submit, I just love it when its time that this thread comes around. Kinda bummed about the less pickiness on the horizontal...
I agree about the rubber gaskets. We use only cork. Rubber gaskets and chrome pans are in my opinion, no-no's.
Thats pretty darn cool. The color combination is great.
Damn! I thought storks brought them.
I can't wait for mine. I just ordered it a couple of nights ago. That and a Rodders Journal onesie for my little boy.
http://www.teckpak-fitzall.com/spgm.cfm?id=KT3507 Check with your local transmission parts house about one of these. The link will show a pack...
In a time where I spend $200-$300,sometimes more, for parts to overhaul a transmission (thats not counting the t. converter) I get a kick outta...
The 4R70W's output shaft had the splines to drive a speedo gear machined in the till 2003. The 2004 and up models no longer had the splines on the...
Loving the chevy. The wheels, tires, stance, everything.
I'd personally go with the 4R70W. It's just a better transmission. It's stronger, easy to work on, the ratios are better, and you won't have to...
UHHHHHHHhhhhhh
Thats cool. Laredo certainly has had it's issues lately but I still love my city. The hot rod scene here is small but it's trying. The car scene...
I don't have any history to add but I think this is cool. I live in Laredo, born and raised, but have family in the Valley in Santa Rosa. My...
Awesome pictures! Dig the stitched finger.
My thoughts exactly.
I dig the purple. I like the car. I agree with those that say to tone it down. Abit. Not alot.
Bear Paws would f-ing awesome.
My dad can remember a guy named Paul Young running those speeds but in around 1961 or 62. Not in 1957. Might've been his. Might not. My dad was...
Cool story, neat truck, and kudos to you for keeping the original hood.
Or a ring gear for the rear planet.
Cool project. Welcome from Texas.
Nice car. Welcome from Laredo.
Couldn't agree more! Seeing these pictures and reading the story has me really kicking myself in the ass for not going.
The truck in my avatar was one time white. And still running the original axle up front. One day, the radiator develops a leak. Pulled it out for...
Looks good. I've got a rough 56 grill that I've been contemplating fixing up to put on my 55. I think I've decided now.
Give a look see if the fleplate is not on backwards.
The E4OD is a good transmission. Essentially it is a C6 with an overdrive added to it. Physically, it is a huge transmission. You're going to have...
If everything is original and is indeed a 65 model, then the transmission is a Cruisomatic. Not a C6.
