I saw a guy weld a frame up with a 110 welder with flux core set on the low setting... Then spent an hour grinding the welds off for a super clean...

Make sure your steering is not binding or hitting when your cruising over bumps so make sure you over load and test and set up some bump stops if...
You tube is an awesome way to atleast get an idea of how to start... Welding tips and tricks are pretty good videos and have helped me fine tune...

I would have a pro do it, you could use a s-10 jegs kit but the cab is already small and the tighter you can tuck the bars to the body your better...
