That cam should be OK in a near-stock 307. Make sure you check all the simple stuff. Timing, as mentioned. What about the lifter preload? Is...
What cam? If this is a stock low-compression 305, and you put in a big cam, I wouldn't expect too much from it.
Will be over there on Sunday. Unfortunately, I will not have a whole lot of time to hang out, as this is a business trip w/ a fairly tight...
Special thanks to all you guys posting the vintage pics! I love this thread!!! :)

My '65 misses the pre-64 cutoff, AND I have non-traditional wheels. We may be banished to the back corner or something. :p
Planning a bunch of yardwork this weekend, but I am going to try my best to finish on Saturday, so the wife will let me go "play" on Sunday. LOL...
Beautiful car! I love the "look" with the color scheme and those caps. To the original topic... I've had my '65 Chevy II for almost 23 years,...
They need to chrome them and punch 5-slots to make them look like the old chrome astros.
I grew up in a neighborhood just up the hill from Crivelli Chevrolet. Worked there as a lot attendant in college, so I know Jim Boburka ("Gig")....
McFly... was looking at your album. I never expected to see THAT engine in that innocent looking '62. ;) Got some questions on your nifty...
This is the real "in-bomber"? Any stories about how the car was found? Pics in "as-found" condition? Did a search, but I must have missed...
x2. You done good, Andy!
Not a fan of the assymetrical thing, but there is just something so cool about a 63-67 coupe w/ radiused wheelwells, Torq Thrusts, and six tailights.
I've heard that the newer Eaton Posi unit go a long way to improving the durability of these rears. Better spider gears and stronger pinion...

A lot of those early 283s only had the hub as shown in your picture. Don't know why, but many never had the elastomeric damper.
Decided to stay in the garage this time. Hopefully we'll get some warmer weather between now and the March gathering, so I can break-in my cam...
White-on-red... looks familiar. Here's my '65: [img]
That New Yorker is COOL!

Ahh yes... almost forgot about having to do that after close every night. :)
Got my first job at one of the few remaining full serve stations in 1986 at the ripe age of 14. I had just bought my '65 Nova project car (The...
