So I have my '56 Olds (four door Super 88 sedan) stripped down and ready to media blast. With the car at this stage, I know the best bet is to...
Billy's right.. The Navarro has different spacing than the more common Offy and Edlebrock's so there's not the ready-made source of lines ready to...
Now that's snazzy!
So it's time to put fuel lines on this... The intake is Navarro so the ready-made three into one line that Stromberg sells won't work due to carb...
Great input here, thanks guys. My primary reasoning was being able to check the motors for leaks, adjust carbs, timing, etc. I expect the motor...
I would like to know what your opinions are on engine run stands vs. running a newly built motor in a car? I've seen some internet opinions that...
Bob, Can you please clarify for me the where/how you mount the PCV on a 3x2 intake? I get the design on the standpipe (shorten and cap it). But...
Bob, I've read a lot of the discussions here regarding PCV's on Flatheads, and I'm trying to convince myself it's necessary and practical to do,...
Not yet.... Gotta locate some 1 5/16" tubing today (or close to it that can be honed to fit). I THINK the internal tube needs to be there to...
Another source came to the rescue with 1.3" by 5.480" and it's apparently just a hollow tube with no special baffle inside, etc.
My 8BA block is missing the internal crankcase breather tube. This is the standpipe that fits in the floor of the lifter valley (1-5/16" hole) and...
Is there a particular pickup tube version that is compatible with this pan, or is it just "make what you can find work"?

Can one of you experts identify my Flathead oil pan here? Passed along by another HAMB’er but no idea of its lineage. I’m primarily curious if...
Thanks guys for all the replies. I'm pretty confident that the issue is not with the rings but the installer (me) and the relief. I'm going to...
If I'm running a Vertex Mag (real mag, not the pretend distributor thing) am I better off with the solid core cloth wires or the carbon...
Brand new pistons, rings, freshly machined block. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Yes, the rings were broken while inserting the pistons in the bores, not while installing the rings. When the rings were broken, I was using an...
Piston ring help needed... Can anyone please verify that these are the correct rings for my combination? It’s an 8BA Block bored to 3-5/16” (4”...
John, care to share your friend's info... I'd like to know more about that pan!
[ATTACH] I'm looking at the cast/polished aluminum oil pan from Flathead Jack's for my 8BA. Wondering if anyone has any experience with these pans...
I was wondering if the chromed cast metal would take a thread. That would make reassembly a lot cleaner.
Mine. Built in 2015 but I've tried to keep as true to an old school style as possible with as many creature comforts as I can get. Car is a dream...
‘56 Olds “88” badges. Rare, but not impossible to replace I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

To clarify, I would use an "updated" harness from American Autowire with a late model style fuse panel, etc. not an OEM '56 Chevy harness.
This goes out to any/all of you that have had the fun of building a '56 Olds... I have a four-door Super 88 project car that's going to need new...
Any other HAMBers headed to Luckenbach, Texas this Saturday for the Luckenrod meet? This is a Pre-'76 show, FYI.
Lots of really useful info there, thank you!
So I have discovered! Nothing like having a "rare" car...
