For big inch flatheads, when using two 48's, I usually build them in a "Hybrid" configuration, using 97 style throttleshaft ends with the S & W...
After you install the fuel pump, regulator and change the jets and powervalves to .043's and 70's respectively, be sure to turn your scoops around...

Or, use genuine 97's, including one of the newly available ported bases.
